In the shadow of the Battle of Nations Monument lies one of Germany's most impressive surface monuments : the Leipziger Südfriedhof. Already at the end of the 19th century a park-like cemetery complex with spectacular tombs was built here.
Between ancient trees and lush rhododendrons, there are not only imposing buildings, mausoleums and sculptures, but also the largest columbarium north of the Alps. Many tombs reflect the need for representation of the wealthy citizens of Leipzig, even beyond death. Some testify to fame and honor, some to rise and fall, some to love and passion.

5.00Highly recommended tour. Our guide told with a lot of passion and humor. You learn things about Leipzig’s city history that you hardly learn otherwise. The property itself is breathtakingly beautiful, especially now in spring. Even without a guide you could walk around here for hours. For us, the tour was one of the most beautiful experiences of our Leipzig visit.

5.00Better than any city tour! We had booked a private tour with Dirk and loved it. Beautiful old cemetery with winding paths and hidden graves. Our guide was well versed and answered even the stupidest question charmingly.
