Discover why Lexington, Kentucky is known as the Horse Capital of the World on this 3.5-hour narrated tour with transportation provided on a comfortable 14-person passenger van. The tour is not all on the van, though, as destination stops are made at world famous Keeneland Race Course* and one or more of the beautiful Thoroughbred horse farms that combine to make the Lexington region the true epicenter of Thoroughbred breeding in the United States ... and beyond.
All tours are given by very experienced local guides who share a wealth of stories about the history of the local area, farms, bourbon production and the Thoroughbred horse -- the world's most desired breed for winning the world's most prestigious races.
* NOTE: All tour itineraries can vary/change depending on changing destination and farm availability on the specific day of the tour. This is true for all of the venues (including Keeneland at its discretion) and the Thoroughbred horse farms.

November 12th - March 10th: Minimum numbers of 4 guests are required to run tour.
Under Kentucky law, a farm animal activity sponsor, farm animal professional, or other person does not have the duty to eliminate all risks of injury of participation in farm animal activities. "There are inherent risks of injury that you voluntarily accept if you participate in farm animal activities." "By purchasing ticket/s you agree that Thoroughbred Heritage Tours is not liable for any injuries or death that may occur due to participating in a farm animal activity in Kentucky".
There is no age limit but a ticket is required for all children. It is not recommended for children under six. Kentucky State Law requires infants and/or toddlers must be in a car seat, rear facing until 2 years of age. Children younger than 8 years old and between 40 and 57 inches must be in a booster. Children younger than 8 but taller than 57 inches do not have to ride in a booster seat.
No animals including service animals allowed on the tours

Thoroughbred Heritage Visitors Center Guests will be transported from this pick-up location to visit beautiful Thoroughbred horse farms in the area, learn about Thoroughbred breeding, training, racing and aftercare and get to interact with some of the farms' horses as available. Guests will be returned to the Visitors Center at the end of the tour. (Free parking is available at the Visitors Center.)

5.00I did not know what to expect but everything was great. You cant go wrong with this tour. Richard had so much knowledge of the farms and life of this business. It was magical and informative. We saw much more than I thought we would. Richard answered all of our questions and then some. I recommend to everyone.

5.00This was well worth every penny. Margi was an incredible guide- her knowledge and experience made the trip so interesting! We especially liked Keeneland Race Track and seeing the stallions and breeding room at our final stop.

5.00Richard, a retired horse farm manager was an excellent tour guide. he was able to answer anything we could come up with. He has personal knowledge about many of the horse farms and was passionate about his love of the sport of kings. When we went to Keeneland he described how calming it is come out early morning and watch the trainers working the horses. We highly recommend this tour.

5.00My husband and I really enjoyed the tour. Driving the back roads was beautiful. The farms were great. Richard was a great guide. He had so much knowledge of the farms working from breeding to racing. It was will worth the price. We learned a lot that day. Would highly recommend.
