4.00Most sunset catamaran cruises depart from the Dockyard near the cruise port, but that isn't as convenient if you're staying closer to Hamilton or St. George's. We booked our tour with Rising Son because they offered a sunset cruise departing from Hamilton, which was much more convenient since we were staying near Elbow Beach. Because this tour is relatively new, there weren't many people on board, which actually made for a great experience. It gave us plenty of time to chat with the friendly, engaging crew, and there was lots of room to move around the catamaran to enjoy the best views. They offered complimentary Rum Swizzles, and there was also a cash bar for additional drinks. We had agreat time and would recommend. We were lucky to have a beautiful evening with an amazing sunset. Although we could see a rain squall approaching in the distance, we made it back to the marina just before it started raining. The tour runs from 7:30 p.m. until about 9:00 p.m., which was the perfect amount of time. If you're staying on the South Shore, you can take the #7 or #8 bus toward the Dockyard after the cruise. These routes generally run later than many of the other bus lines, but be sure to check the schedule for your specific destination. You'll need to walk uphill to the Central Bus Terminal in Hamilton to catch the bus. A taxi is another option, and you can usually hail one or book one through the Hitch app. We had planned to take a taxi for convenience, but there was an event at the marina, so getting one took longer than expected. We downloaded Hitch while we waited, and although it also took some time, we eventually found a taxi before reaching the bus terminal. If you plan to use the bus, download the bus app to purchase tickets or day passes in advance. If you pay your fare in cash, be sure to have the exact amount, as drivers do not provide change. For example, if the fare is $5 and you pay with a $10 bill, you will not receive the difference back.
