This is a medium to hard hiking tour to the highest peak on Galichica mountain. Magaro is 2245 m high. The view from the top of the hill over the two lakes is amazing. From here you can see both Lake Prespa and Lake Ohrid, and both Macedonia and Albania. If you are up for this challenging adventure, do not hesitate to book.

Ohrid
We will pick you up from your hotel or any other agreed staring point in Ohrid. With the vehicle (car or minivan, depending on the number of travelers) we will be transferring you to a place called Lipova Medow or Korita from where we will start our ascent to Magaro peak.
Everywhere you look you will witness an amazing view. From the top of the hill, you can see 2 lakes and 2 countries. You will see both Lake Prespa and Lake Ohrid, and you will see both Macedonia and Albania. The adrenalin rush will make you feel excited and full of energy instead of tired. After a good rest and having enough injected from this beauty we will start our descent to the Lipova Meadow for our return transfer to Ohrid

Beautiful, but relatively tough, hike. Worth the amazing views

5.00I took the hike during my stay at Ohrid with my boyfriend. We did NOT, however, did the hike with this tour. We drove to the starting point ourselves and did the hike together. The path is very well signed so it's easy to follow. If you're not an experienced hiker, or would like to have more information about the environment etc., I would defintely recommend taking a tour (guide), which is why I write our review here. I highly recommend the hike! It was very beautiful and we enjoyed many views. It is quite a heavy hike though. Lots of pretty steep climbing, but very much worth it!

5.00I had a great time hiking to Magaro Peak with my guide, Peter. The hike itself was a workout, but you are constantly rewarded with spectacular scenery, so it was worth it. Peter was an excellent guide, attentive, encouraging and very knowledgable as well. I enjoyed our chats along the way. I would recommend this hike to anyone visiting Ohrid!
