Ok, St John does have a fascinating history but it was shut. We arrived in mid-October and the season had ended. The forts were closed. No one wanted to talk about the history. Meh. Maybe it’s better in summer. Sidney was a lot nicer and more receptive to cruise ships.

We did the walking tour with Dave and found it to be a very rewarding experience. We got to see the history of St. John through Dave’s eyes and by extension, his people’s. Dave was very forthcoming with his personal history and experience and he also encourages you to experience the tour in your own way. The pace he set was very comfortable and with many “story stops” along the way. We would enthusiastically encourage everyone to choose Dave and this walking tour, or really, whatever else Dave is offering. He opens up himself so that you may look at your life, and your part in the world just a little bit differently. Cheers, Dale H and Tracy B

Enjoyed the tour. Went with my co-workers for team building & to experience other Indigenous experiences within the Maritimes. The legends and the touch on truth and reconciliation, along with the connection with our guide Dave Smith. I will be recommending to family, friends, and our tour guests to experience this tour. 10/10 !

Dave is an amazing tour guide-he’s really more like a friend who takes you on a walk while telling stories, sharing knowledge, and also sharing some of his story. I highly recommend everyone to take this in!
