After your guide-driver picks you up from your hotel or guest house lobby, you will have the option to choose between a guided hike at Lion’s Head or a guided Table Mountain hiking trail experience. Guests choosing the Lion’s Head hike will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of Camps Bay, the Atlantic Ocean, the Twelve Apostles mountain range, and the Cape Town skyline while your guide assists along the route with scenic photo stops and unforgettable sunrise or sunset moments.

Epic 360° views, well-marked trail, fun chain scramble near top. Go at sunrise/sunset, bring water, takes 3hrs total. One of the best things I did we did, thank you Ivan!

Did Lion’s Head at sunrise and it was worth every step. The views over Cape Town, Table Mountain, and the ocean are next level. Yes, there are chains/ladders near the top, but it’s safe and adds to the adventure. Took about 1h30 up, 1h down. Go early to beat crowds + heat. Bring water and good shoes. If you only do one hike in Cape Town, make it this one. 10/10 would do again.
Best views in Cape Town, hands down.

Lion’s Head is the perfect “middle ground” hike - more exciting than Signal Hill, less intense than Table Mountain. The path is clear and well-worn. The final scramble with chains is steep but totally doable if you’re not scared of heights. Kids and dogs did it too. We started at 6am to catch sunrise. Cold at first, but watching the city light up over 12 Apostles + ocean was magical. Summit is 360° views - you can see Camps Bay, CBD, Robben Island, everything. Tips: Park early, it fills fast. Bring water, sunscreen, hat. No shade. Takes 2.5-3hrs total. Cape Town gem. Worth it every time.
