In the Old Town Hall’s enigmatic underground we will discover not only former Romanesque and Gothic houses, but even an original street. The labyrinthine subterranean system is older than the Town Hall itself, and the complex of medieval halls, passages and tunnels is the largest of its kind in Prague. At the point where the unspoilt streets of Prague’s Old Town give way to the redeveloped Jewish Quarter, you will see how Prague progressively grew in height.

5.00Fun and interesting tour of underground vaults under old town hall. Gives a good impression of what the city looked like in the Middle Ages. Guide Alena conducts the tour in an interactive way which makes it all more lively.

5.00Alena was a very thorough and knowledgeable guide, with superb English. Her enthusiasm for the history of Prague shone through. She also had a subtle and cheeky sense of humour. At 2 hours, the tour was longer than we expected.
