On this Mormon History of Salt Lake City Walking Tour, you'll be guided step by step to the historic spots associated with the Mormon pioneers and discover their story. Go at your pace, anytime.
You’ll see many of the most famous sites in Salt Lake and a few hidden gems including the pioneer museum, state house, beehive, lion’s den, tabernacle, LDS office, eagle’s gate, history museums, lions gate, the church, Temple square and so much more.
You’ll hear the stories and history of the people that made this their home including Brigham Young, the Native Americans, Joseph Smith, Pioneers, and the people that built this city.
You will multiple chances to stop at sites that offer free admission including museums, an observation deck, parks, and government buildings. You are free to enter, if you visit during opening hours, and are optional. The tour is completely outside and can be taken anytime.
Try doing that with a group tour! The tour starts outside the State House.

5.00We drove it. It was very spread out and you would have to back track to return to your vehicle. We parked at the Capitol on the street. Saw that then drove over by the pioneer museum for that. Then we drove down the hill and parked on the side of the conference center and walked the Mormon square from there. The video was a bit difficult to keep on track. Homestead quit using it about halfway through. Really not worth the money. Buy one and listen on speaker setting.

3.00This tour took 3hours. Not 1 hour. Connection was bad. We would lose connection in the middle of the tour. Also could not find certain items due to construction

4.00Quite an interesting tour, well paced and informative. The only issue was that it was outdated. It was a COVID era tour and more is open now. Also there’s a lot of new construction around Temple Square which made following the tour directions challenging.

3.00I needed the help of my son to get the app to work. Downloaded fine but trying to activate was difficult. The audio goes faster than you can walk. The map on my cell phone was upside down for directions and I found that confusing. We didn’t finish the tour. I felt like it was more than an hour of walking and then we had to walk up a very steep hill to get back to our car

4.00The tour was interesting, even to someone who is LDS and has lived in Utah my entire life. Most information was accurate with a some inaccurate information regarding LDS history mixed in.

5.00We really enjoyed the tour. We did it with kids so at the end we enjoyed the Mormon History Museum while dad went to get the car. Would do it again.

5.00Found the information interesting and the chosen sites pertinent to the history of the town. Easy to use and the host's voice was easy to listen to. Would recommend to future visitors. Price was perfect.
