Start the tour from Eilat hotels. A driver will be picking you from your hotel at 10:00 pm to take you to the Taba border. They will help you with the border proceedings, and you will be passed over the border with a driver waiting for you on the Egyptian side. Drive to Mt. Sinai, and start to climb the mountain. In the early morning hours, you will see the most magnificent sunrise. The view is astounding. Christian sages say that whoever climbs Mount Sinai and views the sunrise will be reborn, and all his or her sins will be forgiven. In the morning tour, the St. Catherine Monastery, including the church, which is dated from the sixth century. Continue to tour the “Burning Bush,” and “Jethros’ Well.” After the tour, you will stop for lunch and then start the drive back, stopping at a few sites according to the time — arrival back in Eilat about 3:00 pm.

5.00Despite the evening commute and sleepless day, the reward of watching the sunrise at the top was stunning. Be prepared for the exercise of walking 7 km each way, of which the last 1 km or so is a steep incline. There is uneven surfacing, so it is best to wear comfortable good gripped shoes and walking assistance if required. You will start the ascension in the dark, so torches are a plus. If you can not make it all the way, you are able to ride a camel for a decent price. Additionally the seamless transport transition between countries and professional guides were fantastic, Mena and Musa.
