The Musandam region, separated from the rest of Oman by the United Arab Emirates, is the northern most part of the Sultanate. The dramatic Musandam peninsula is perhaps one of the most scenically spectacular area in the Gulf. These spectacular fjords have given the area a second name "The Norway of Arabia”. The peninsula is mainly inhabited by the Shihuh, who are fishermen and herdsmen and are probably descended from the original inhabitants of northern Oman. Fishing is the peninsula's main industry with packing plants at al-Khasab and Bay'ah. Transportation is mostly by sea, since no roads cross the forbidding terrain.

Pick up from your hotel in Ras Al Khaimah by air conditioned bus & depart to Khasab, a port city on the northern coast of Oman’s Musandam Peninsula. Admire the Hajar Mountains and coast on route to the port of Khasab. After crossing the border into Oman, arrive in Khasab, where your Omani double-decker dhow is docked. Admire the traditional-style wooden boat and be shown aboard by the welcoming crew. Cruise into the spectacular, scenic and tranquil fiord, the khor as Shimm and the longest fiords in the Musandam peninsula. Observe the coastal villages as we cruise along and there’s a very good possibility to sight the playful dolphins and many other exotic marine creatures. We anchor at the famous Telegraph Island, which was a repeat station built in 1864 by the British to connect Bombay (India) with mainland Britain by an underwater and overland telegraphic cable passing via Basra in Iraq and Turkey. Enjoy swimming and snorkeling at the Telegraph Island in the pristine and calm waters of the fiord. Lunch and refreshments are served onboard. Snorkeling equipments and towels will be provided on the dhow. Buffet Lunch, fruits and d unlimited refreshments will be provided on the dhow.

5.00Had such a great time, crew were friendly and provided a lovely lunch with plenty of soft drinks available The swimming and snorkelling were so welcome The guide on board was so knowledgeable and provided so much interesting information, he also spoke 4 languages fluently! Would I go back….in a heartbeat! Thanks to all who made our day so memorable

5.00Very exiting trip in a traditional Dhow with plenty of amazing sceneries. Super friendly and service oriented staff. Sufficient food and drinks. Almost certain dolphin encounters!

5.00Great. Loved every minute. Worth it to see the gorgeous creatures !! Smooth pick up and informative and fun. Cloudy water so don't expect clear snorkelling.

5.00Beautiful sea ride along the coast on a traditional wooden boat of medium size (maximum capacity of 20 people). There were six couples on the boat. Very good Service on board, pleasant crew, we saw many dolphins. The meal was very good, coffee or traditional Omani tea. Unlimited water and soda. Towels and snorkelling equipment provided. 2 stops to swim it is very nice to swim at the edge of the mountains beautiful landscapes.
