You’ll journey through Danish identity across five unique stops, moving from traditional smørrebrød to vibrant street food, modern Nordic comfort, and ending with the iconic Danish pastry. Each stop tells a chapter of Denmark’s story, connecting history, innovation, and everyday life into a cohesive culinary narrative.
The tour takes you through two of Copenhagen’s most captivating neighbourhoods. You’ll start in Nyhavn, the city’s historic harbourfront, once filled with sailors, merchants, and trading ships, now a clean, design-driven hub. Then you’ll cross the bridge into Christianshavn, often called Copenhagen’s Mini-Amsterdam, with its canals, colorful houses, historic warehouses, houseboats, and vibrant cafés and bakeries that capture authentic everyday Danish life.

Children under 4 years old do not need a ticket and can join the tour for free. However, food is not included. Paid tickets with food included are available for ages 4 and up.

5.00To keep and open mind and try everything. Go on an empty stomach. This tour is a fantastic introduction to many types of food in Denmark. Sonia is a terrific guide. The best food tour guide I’ve had in Europe.

5.00This is our third experience with Eating Europe. I cannot express enough about how impressed we are with them. All our guides and food selections have been outstanding. Mark our guide in Copenhagen gave us an exceptional tour that included food which gave a lot of insight into the city and its history. This is the tour to take if you have a limited stay in an European city.

5.00Mark had great enthusiasm and energy, with loads of fun facts about Denmark, Copenhagen -- not just the food. The food we tried was also far from dull. We have been to very many places, and we really enjoyed this tour!

5.00Our family took a food tour with Sonya. We have done tours with this company in Rome and Amsterdam. We enjoyed this one very much! I am only sad we did the tour two days before we leave. We will go back to a couple of the spots we visited during the tour tomorrow though for sure. Sonya is not originally from Denmark but she is extremely knowledgeable about the country and its history. She was fun to walk around the city with and I would recommend this tour!

5.00My wife and I did the tour in early June and were very pleased as this was our second Eating Europe experience. Sonia was a wonderful guide. She was full of energy and perspective. She had a lot of fun, local information to give us on Denmark as well as context to put everything in so that we could relate as Americans visiting. The group was a great size so we were able to see and get through things in a timely manner and really get our questions handled efficiently. Most of the places we visited were very calm and allowed easy conversation and seating and all of the places had delicious food. We spent the full 3+ hour tour well in my opinion. It was well worth the cost to get such a good sampling from the city along with the history. Overall, it was a wonderful afternoon and experience!

5.00We had a wonderful food tour with Marc. A fantastic way to discover a city! We not only tried a variety of specialties from the cuisine, but also learned a lot about the city along the way. From the trendy location by the waterfront to the street food, everything was exciting and delicious. Clear recommendation!
