  hellish two and a half hour drive from Khao Lak with awful traffic. We first stopped at a temple which was disappointing..having passed some stunning temples we ended up at this one which was more tourist trap than anything else. Our driver didn't make it clear to the group the time we had to be back...in fact 50 minutes, which meant we got stuck in a stuffy hot minibus for 35 minutes while we waited for the ones who though he had said 5pm. On to the market which was endless tourist tat, hot and crowded, then another hellish drive back.

  Wonderful guide gift and our driver aek who navigated horrendous traffic. Could have left earlier to avoid worst of crowd at Sunday market thought I would faint at one point managed to duck into a side street literally for air. Shopping centre was lovely would rather spend more time there

  Great place to shop and eat. Fantastic Thai vendor food. Lots of clothes and gifts, herbal and good quality brand-name items. There is also music at various points around where you can sit and have a cool beer or drink. Family friendly venue.

  We were at Wat Chalong Temple as the Big Buddha was closed. Subsequently, we were on the market for a long time and were able to move freely.

  Far too long drive over 2 hours. to the temple to Phuket , which is actually superfluous. No drinks (water) in the car , which is included in other excursions. Arrived at the weekend market after almost 4 hours, and about 4 hours walking around there, sometimes too much. Wouldn't really recommend such a ride.

• Nice tour to the Naka weekend market.

  Great tour. Picked up on time at the resort. A long drive but in Phuket it is very busy with all the traffic. After a short stop at the Chalong temples on to The Big Buddha. An hour here. Then to Naka weekend market. Here, more than 3.5 hours, time to browse all the food and stuff stalls, eat and shop. Driven back to the resort in an hour and a half.   Would have been nice to have known that we were going to sit in a van for 4 hours before we got anywhere can’t fault the driver he was excellent

  

  

  

• Phuket Old Town Worth a Weekend Visit to see the Night Market

  We were lucky to time our visit that co-incided with the annual Vegetarian Festival. We booked an overnight stay in Phuket Old Town and witnessed the Night Market which was amazing but very tiring with the humidity, but the following day, we were fortunate enough to see the Vegetarian Parade.

• Clean mostly undercover weekend market.

  We arrived early and were pleasantly surprised that is was clean and well organised. We found the stall holders friendly and helpful The goods on offer were varied and not all same same and well priced The food court had a great selection

• Think twice doing this from Khao Lak

  If you are getting picked up from the Pullman Khao Lak Resort, then this trip is a waste of time. 3.5hours travel time to the Big Buddha as we were first to get picked up. Last to be dropped off; 3hr travel time back. Overall, we have spent close to 7hrs travelling to only be out of the van for under 4hrs. 40 mins allocated at Big Buddha 3hrs allocated at Naka Weekend Markets No tour or commentary was provided during the journey. This is literally a taxi service. We called the tour operator an hour prior asking about cancelling, and they obviously lied to us when they told us that there was 0.1mm rain in Phuket. All in all, it's not worth it, very disappointing.
