Skansin Fortress
Skansin, located in the heart of Tórshavn, is a historic fortress offering stunning views of the harbor and the surrounding landscape. Built in the late 16th century to defend the Faroe Islands from pirates, it later played a role in World War II as a British military base. Tinganes

5.00We didn't realise it was a public holiday on the day of our tour. There was no public transport to take us to the meeting point. We arrived late and furthermore, the weather was unfavourable. But we ended up in an amazing cafe with Birita, our guide, and spent the rest of the tour chinwagging over a good breakfast and had our own unique 'tour' instead. :)
