5.00Excellent way to visit the major temples and sights of Tanjore and Kumbakonam in a single day from Trichy. We were collected from our hotel at 8am in a private vehicle. The tour included the main sights of this area that we wanted to see. We are independently travelling across Southern India so we had looked into the possibility of doing this via independent means but realised that we'd need much more time. The temples were wonderful with amazing architecture, history, statues, etc.. but even better because our guide for the day (Raj Kumar) was very knowledgeable about each site, the story of each deity and the surrounding area history and culture - Raj was happy to try to help us understand and answer any questions we had. Our driver (Mr Chandravel) was also friendly and helpful (and safe) and even took the trouble to hand in a metal water bottle we had left in the car after we were dropped off at the hotel (thank you again!). We shared a top quality Thali lunch together and received plenty of guidance on the best combinations and order for each of the 10+ curries, chutneys.and dips. All in all a great day out!
