The safest and easiest way to reach Taroko Gorge from Taipei is by train. Pick-up is available at your Hualien hotel or Hualien Train Station. Staying one night in Hualien is recommended for a relaxed trip, but a day trip is also possible with an early train and evening return. Driving is not recommended due to long mountain roads, falling rocks, and fast trucks. The train is safer and hassle-free
Due to ongoing road controls and traffic restrictions in the mountain area, pick-up and drop-off at Silks Place Taroko are not available
Weather conditions in mountainous areas can change quickly. Light rain or cloudy weather does not necessarily result in cancellation, and tours generally operate as scheduled in normal rainy conditions. Cancellations or refunds due to weather apply only when the tour is deemed unsafe to operate by the operator or local authorities, typically in cases of natural disasters such as typhoons or flooding

Taroko National Park
One of Taiwan’s most famous destinations, Taroko National Park is known for its marble canyons, lush forests, and towering peaks. The Liwu River has carved the stunning 18 km Taroko Gorge, where sheer marble cliffs rise above turquoise waters. Our visit includes highlights such as the Taroko Gorge Entrance Arch, Visitor Center, and scenic viewpoints along the gorge. Although some trails remain closed due to the April 2024 earthquake, your experienced guide will take you to the best open spots with breathtaking views and hidden photo opportunities. We dedicate a significant part of the day to exploring Taroko, with short walks, plenty of photo stops, and a relaxed pace. Sightseeing duration may vary with traffic, weather, or park rules, but your guide will adjust the itinerary to ensure the best experience. This full-day tour usually lasts around 8 hours, so starting before 8:30 AM is recommended.

5.00My family and I included Hualien in our vacation to Taiwan, because we wanted to see Taroko Gorge. We hired Alex to drive us and we had the best day with him. Alex is very kind, friendly, and his English is excellent. He is knowledgeable about all things Hualien, including nature/environment, and culture. We went on a nice hike to a waterfall, visited Taroko Gorge, and spent time at the ocean. He also gave a recommendation of what to try at the night market and it was delicious! We highly recommend a day trip with Alex when visiting Hualien.

5.00Had a great day - and Vincent was able to flex our tour around some limitations due access to sites and weather as it deteriorated across the day. His English is good and very knowledgeable given he is a local! Would highly recommend him.

5.00I had a fantastic solo day trip with Vincent and would highly recommend both him and this tour. Vincent spoke excellent English and was an incredible source of information throughout the day. The tour was very well structured while still being flexible enough to cater to my interests and preferences, which made the experience feel much more personal. Taroko National Park was absolutely stunning, and Vincent took me to several hidden spots along the way that offered spectacular views away from the usual crowds. Despite the devastating earthquake a few years ago that damaged roads and walking tracks, it was impressive to see the ongoing rebuilding efforts and infrastructure improvements underway. Most importantly, Vincent was always focused on safety. At no point did I feel uncomfortable or in danger, and his professionalism and local knowledge gave me complete confidence throughout the trip. Sometimes the reality on the ground is very different from what you read online. If you’re considering visiting Taroko, I highly recommend this tour and Vincent as your guide. It was an unforgettable experience.

5.00We had a wonderful time in Hualien today! Our tour guide was Jimmie, the company and Jimmie were very helpful and communicative from the day I booked the tour all the way to picking us up at the train station. We really got a very informative and lovely tour of Taroko gorge, the surrounding towns, and downtown Hualien. The restaurants and street food that Jimmie recommended were all amazing. He was very responsive to our teenage kids needs, like if they were hungry he took us to get delicious food quickly. He also took us to a mochi store and bought us lots of mochi for our welcome gift. It was a wonderful tour, we wish it was longer!

5.00Even after the earthquake, Hualien is still extremely beautiful and a wonderful place to visit. Our tour guide, Vincent spoke very fluent English and was able to guide us through all of Hualien in a very well-thought out manner. I will not spoil this for anyone interested in visiting Hualien, so please book this tour and find out!

5.00Lion was an amazing guide! He had an itinerary of all the best spots planned out, but was able to adjust the itinerary when we had some specific spots that we wanted to see. We would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to see all that Taroko National Park has to offer.

5.00Was a lovely way to see the coast and mountains in a very comfortable van. Jimmy attended to all of our needs, even the ones we didn't know we had! Surprise breakfast treats and mushi (sp?)!
