Before we get started, our tour reflects the local cuisine, and the limitations of street food vendors and local eateries mean we cannot cater for every dietary restriction. Here's an honest appraisal for the tour, so no-one is disappointed: ✘ Unsuitable for vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, halal diets, lactose intolerance and severe allergies as the number of tastings would be very limited. ✔ No pork diets, gluten intolerance, mild tree nut / peanut allergies and no seafood diets are possible though some tastings do not have alternatives available and the menu would be more limited.

Start in the old town with snacks like cevichocho before moving into heartier dishes such as encebollado and different styles of fritada. As the tour continues, you’ll explore corn-based staples like tigrillo, humita, and empanadas made from morocho and green plantain, alongside street favourites like toasted corn with chicharrón and pan de maíz. In La Floresta, the focus shifts to Quito’s evening street markets with grilled meats, traditional dishes like caucara completa. There’s drinks too. 5.00Incredible food tour with lots of culture and history thrown in. All the food was great and there was plenty of it! Guide was amazing and gets you to places and areas (all safe) you would never find alone. Highly recommended

5.00This food tour through Quito with Gustavo was amazing! It is part of the Chefs tour series and Gustavo put so much thought into each stop along the way. We literally ate our way through Quito and stopped at so many places we would have never been able to discover ourselves. The portions were huge (not like the 1-2 bite samples you see on other food tours), my daughter (age 12) and I were so full by the end of the tour, so definitely come hungry! We tried various important Ecuadorian food and learned about the history and the culture so deeply. My favorite was the humita while my daughter loved the encebollado soup. You end the tour at the night food market and tried several amazing items (the tripe was delicious even my daughter loved it!). Oh and in the middle of tour we also got to do a cooking class so this tour has everything included! 150% recommend for everyone. This tour has been in operations for 3 months so I didn’t see too many reviews but Gustavo have been an experienced tour guide for more than 15+ years so you are in good hands. Don’t hesitate to do this tour if you want an authentic and true Quito experience! You will thank me later (and so will your stomach!).

5.00We did a tour with Ibeth in Quito and I have to say it was one of the best experiences in my life. She was so kind and considerate. She told us about the history of Quito and took us to the most wonderful local places- Always asking if we felt OK and asking how we liked the dish. She complimented us constantly and really gave us one of the best experiences we have ever ever had! When dealing with the booking part, Luka was seriously amazing. Just a few emails we shared, he seems like one of the nicest people ever. This really made our vacation!
