I had completely forgotten to book a guided tour for Derinkuyu and luckily Banu came to save the day. She quickly arranged a guided tour just for me with the perfect measures to suit me. I was able to make a secure payment online and Mehmet came to pick me up with a driver at my hotel in Nevşehir. Mehmet was very patient with me, as we clambered through the chambers and tunnels of this enormous underground city. Luckily he came with: had I gone out alone, I would have missed so much (and I could tell that others seem confused and longed for a bit of orientation. I got lots of it! I feel so privileged. I had a great time with Mehmet. We had a relaxing day which perfectly suited me, his guidance and knowledge are excellent and he was truly attentive to my questions and understood my needs. Add to that a tour of Goreme valley and Avanos with a quiet lunch and great conversation: I couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you!!
