Salt Mine is famous not only in Poland, but also in the world, thanks to the beautiful Salt Mine, visited by over 1 million tourists a year. Since the thirteenth century, the city is known as the mining center of this resource, and the mine was founded thanks to Saint. Kinga. The mine is a labyrinth of underground pavements with a length of 300 km. It is a valuable monument of material culture and technical thought. Visiting the Mine takes about 2-3 hours and takes place on several alternative routes. Travel time from Krakow to Wieliczka is about 30 minutes. This is a tour with a private transfer from Krakow. Sightseeing takes place in groups with other participants.

3.00Interesting place however if you are deaf it’s a frustrating visit. The headsets need to be different and like the ones at Auschwitz where you have a head piece covering both ears. Having just one piece you insert into the ear doesn’t work. Also the sound was poor not just for me but also my friend who isn’t deaf. Although our guide was lovely her accent was hard to understand at times and she spoke too fast. There was one other person who was also deaf having the same problem as myself.

5.00Simon, our tour guide made the tour interesting and fun. He engaged with various individuals in the group and was humorous and approachable. The mines are beautiful; I would recommend this tour to everyone. Lots of walking.

5.00Great service out to the Salt Mine. Tickets provided and we entered pretty well on our booked slot. Our driver was friendly and efficient and was able to give us good advice about taking one our group to hospital as she’d fallen on stairs towards the end of the tour and badly hurt her shoulder/arm. The Salt mine staff started off helpful but backed off being helpful and blamed our friend - even suggesting she’d had a sore shoulder before the tour started. Our driver Cornel advised us well so we went to hospital with the correct paperwork etc. Our friend had broken her upper arm in the fall so take care on the stairs in the mine.

5.00Great experience and an excellent place to visit. Pick up by our driver Bart was easy and he was entertaining and informative there and back. The Salt Mine tours are well managed through amazing tunnels and open spaces. Recommend tour!!

5.00Bart was our tour guide he was excellent- fun and knowledgeable. Communication was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the salt mine tour. It is amazing! You definitely need to be quite fit. The only comment I would make is there should be something on the ticket when you book to advise the tour guide will provide your actual ticket on the day. This would avoid confusion.

5.00Well organized. Picked up at the hotel at the agreed time by a nice driver. Good orientation before entering the mines with good guidance there. Nice return transport. All in all very pleased.
