Explore ancient history and stunning landscapes on a full-day tour to Bandelier National Monument and Puye Cliff Dwellings. You must be in good walking/hiking condition. We also do climb ladders, so if you have a fear of heights, you likely won't want to climb any ladders.

Here we will hike and walk the main loop at Bandalier that will take 2-3 hours depending on the amount of people there. You will need to be in descent hiking and walking condition. You will be climbing ladders, so this activity is not encouraged if you are afraid of heights. We will be seeing ancient ruins and cliff dwellings along with a variety of petroglyphs. Climbing up and down ladders.
Puye Cliff Dwellings
Here we will have a guided tour by the Santa Clara people themselves. We will get a tour of their winter and summer homes. Their guide will talk about their history, culture, and dwellings they once lived in over 800 years ago.

5.00Relax and unwind while taking in the landscape. If you are lucky enough to get Gerard Vigilante as your guide you will truly enjoy the experience! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the scientific history, religious history, Native American history and ecosystems.

5.00Fascinating tour of Bandalier with knowledge and friendly helpful guide, who was very patient and supportive with a child and elderly on the tour. We now understand the history of the Pueblo people.
Nice day tours of Puya and Bandolier

5.00Had a lovely time with Jerard. I did not want to get a rental car for this trip so it was very nice to be driven around to the Puya site and Bandolier Nat. Monument. Puya site was very interesting, very easy walk, and one large ladder to climb down. Bandolier was a nice mostly paved walkway, a bit more elevation changes and stairs for this one. Several big ladders to get to the Alcove House. It was all very nice and about my speed (bad ankles and knees). I would have liked a tad more time to go to the museum at Bandolier but it had already been a long day and we were all tired! I learned a lot and had a great day.

5.00So glad I found Vigilante Guides. As a solo female adventurer, Jerard made me feel comfortable and safe. He made sure I had a good time and got some great photos. I’d definitely be booking more tours with them in the future.
Bandelier and Puye Cliffs via Vigilante Tours

5.00Jerard with Vigilante tours was our driver and guide for this adventure! He is a local guide whose family had lived in the area for multiple generations! Our first stop was Bandelier, home to some amazing cliff dwellings. My husband and I are both in our 70s and are not seasoned hikers, but he assured us that we could handle the Pueblo Loop Trail, and we were so glad he did. The views were spectacular. Lunch was provided at a nearby local restaurant. Jerard had developed personal relationships with many of the personnel on his tours, which makes for a unique experience for his clients. It was an extremely hot afternoon, so me asked him to abbreviate our stay at Puye Cliffs. Even so, the Welcome Center and gift shop provided great information for us and the views were still spectacular. Highly recommended!
