Icefields Parkway

Crowfoot Glacier
Located alongside Bow Lake, Crowfoot Glacier is a fine example of a hanging glacier and looks like it is stuck onto the face of the mountain. The name comes from how the glacier was shaped like the foot of a crow. The Crowfoot originally had 3 toes, but as the glacier has shrunk, it now has just 2 toes.

5.00We nicknamed the narrator Jasper and truly enjoyed his commentary as we traveled the I Icefields Parkway. It was very helpful to know when to turn off and how long to expect to visit each area. We used the guide both directions and learned more through repetition. I would recommend this guide and will use guide along in the future.

5.00We drove the Icefields Parkway last week and were so pleased we had downloaded the audio guide. We were talked through the history and geology of the mountains. We had viewpoints and places of interest flagged up in good time to give us plenty of notice to turn off the road to them. Overall, the commentary vastly enhanced our whole experience. We only had time to drive half the road and were even more impressed to find the commentary was different on the return journey. If you are intending to drive the Icefields Parkway, I would totally recommend this as great value for money.

5.00The Icefield Partkway audio tour was wonderful. First the narrator's voice was pleasant and engaging. The content included geological, historical and cultural information. All chatter in the car stopped to listen in when we approach a site included in the tour. Everyone agreed it added a lot to our drive.

5.00We listened to this on the way back from the Columbia Icefield location because we forgot to download for the way up. Lots of fun facts and stories but also pauses to take in scenery or suggestions of where to pull over to experience more or take photos.
