I went with my adult granddaughter and 10 year old great grandson. I have a bad knee and wasn't sure if it would be too much walking for me but it was pretty easy. There is a short walk from ticket office , then steps up and down when you get into house. Ann was our tour guide and shared her family has lived in Gettysburg for generations so she had first hand stories handed down from relatives who experienced the battle and events first hand ! We had finished touring the upstairs and gathered by the door when Ann got quiet and looked up the steps and called "hello"....she looked around and said "did anyone else hear footsteps....?" Several people nodded and said yes ......I don't know if it was just floor creaking but it only happened once. We then went to the basement.Ann continued to talk about what the couple of days were like for the family as they hid down there. She also talked about some things that had happened to other tour guides not big crazy woowoo stuff just subtle things that give you pause. Whether you believe in the supernatural or not some things can't be explained. There was a definite energy as we walked through the house. The true story of Jennie Wade is sad and emotional especially with all the details Ann was able to share about not only Jennie and her whole family but the townspeople of Gettysburg at that time. Highly recommend Ann and this tour.

Good tour but we had already done the historical tour of the Jennie Wade House and this tour duplicated that one. Don’t do both.

It’s great to experience this place after seeing so many ghost hunting shows about it. Just wish the ghosts had come out to play.

Let me begin with the statement that I was very much looking forward to this tour. The reviews sounded great and what's not to like about history with some ghostly tales, whether you believe or not. After much prodding I was even able to convince two skeptics to join our fun. About 15 minutes into the tour I regretted it immediately. Our tour guide was George. The outdoor portion of the "tour" started with a walk over to the end of the parking lot where East Cemetery Hill is located. We were told this was a site of intense fighting and that people have seen spirits walking along the ridge and up in a tree. We were then given time to take some photos of the area but that was pretty much the extent of the history lesson and ghostly tales here. I'm pretty sure we spent more time milling around than being engaged with history or experiences. We then walked over to another grassy location closer to the JW house where George filled up time by asking everyone in the group where they were from and if they've had any experiences. After that he talked about some ghost sightings within the Inn at Gettysburg and the Orphanage across the street. Again, not much with history nor were there any great ghostly tales, just plenty of time hanging around so we could take pictures..of exactly what remains a mystery. At this point, the thought of crossing the street to grab some frozen custard did cross my mind. I expect it would've turned out to be more enjoyable. From the grassy knoll we proceeded into the house. Immediately upon entering, George pulled up a Spirit Talker app on his phone and that became his prime focus from here on out...or should I say the prime distraction for the rest of the tour. Every 30 seconds the app said something and then George interrupted what he was telling us with a comment about what the app said. Sometimes it was just repeating what it said and other times he responded as if he was talking back to the app. But in either case the tale he was telling was either never finished or got completely sidetracked. There was a little more history told in the house itself but it was so disjointed with the Spirit Talker app interruptions that the entire experience was frustrating. I also expected a bit more on this tour than for him to pull up some photos that people have posted as part of their TripAdvisor reviews! If you want a tour that is light on history and ghostly tales, and a tour guide that is more interested in his phone than in interacting with the tour participants, this is for you. I however, cannot recommend this tour.
