Discover St Maarten’s one-of-a-kind underwater sculpture park, Under SXM, with the people who know it best — the creators, builders, and owners of the park itself. This 2-hour adventure begins with a short scenic 10 minute boat ride from Great Bay to Little Bay, where over 300 sculptures transform the seafloor into a breathtaking gallery teeming with marine life.
Your expert guide will join you in the water, sharing insider stories about the design, build, and installation of the park, while also pointing out fascinating sea life along the way. Snorkel gear and safety floats are provided, and optional digital underwater photos can be purchased onboard to capture your memories.
With three tours daily at 9am, 11.30am & 2pm and a meeting point just a 10-15 minute walk from the cruise ship terminal, this experience is designed to be easy, memorable, and stress-free. We guarantee you’ll always be back to your cruise ship or your sun lounger on time.

5.00This was a very unique experience for my family. My grown children (18 and 21) and my husband and I enjoyed an afternoon snorkel. We were provided with ample time to view the statues. The guide gave a quick explanation of the origin of the underwater park. He also joined us in the water and was able to point out a few interesting things about the park. We definitely enjoyed this snorkel excursion and would enjoy doing it again in a few years to see the new growth on the statues. I love that this attraction is also aimed at recreating ecosystem to bring back fish and other organisms that have left the area. There are some fish in the area but this is still a developing ecosystem.

5.00We had an excellent experience with Tyrell and Davess as our tour crew. They were very thorough with safety instructions, explained how the underwater sculptures came to be and what they represented, and gave us additional recommendations for places to go afterwards. The sculptures were pretty cool, have never seen anything like that before. I’m hoping they are able to really establish as reef systems to encourage more marine life in the area.

4.00The snorkeling tour was nice, and the crew was friendly and informative. The figures are about 5 meters deep and have since become overgrown, so it does not look like it does in the pictures anymore. However, it has also fulfilled its intended function as an artificial reef, and you can see beautiful, unusual fish. Depending on the waves and sunlight, visibility is not always great, but I was lucky.

5.00We've been to St. Maarten numerous times, and have done many excursions from island tours to snorkeling trips, but this one was truly the best we have ever experienced. Derrick was great as we motored off to the snorkeling site explaining what we would see and how the statues were modeled and placed in the water. Once in the water, we were in awe of the statues...had to swim around the area several times just to make sure we saw them all. We especially liked that this site is exclusive....not everyone can snorkel here, therefore, only 8 of us in total. Check it out next time you are in St. Maarten. We'll do it again. A very easy snorkel and easy to find where to meet if you are on a cruise ship. Only a 15 minute walk to the meet-up point
