Enjoy a walking tour of Gibraltar's Upper Rock with an experienced English speaking local guide.
We will take you around the Upper Rock nature reserve as we walk up the Rock and along the way you will see many of the attractions that Gibraltar has to offer. You will see the military and historical sites, get the chance to walk up the famous Med Steps and you will also get the chance to meet some of our world famous Monkeys.
Please note we have listed the Tours duration as 3 hours, 3 minutes. This is only an approximate time because different people walk at a different pace. If you need to the Tour to finish at a certain time please let us know.

The attractions we walk to will include Devil’s Gap Battery The Genoese Battery The Apes Den The Windsor Bridge Rooke’s Battery The Queens Lookout St Michaels Cave (Longer Stop here to visit the Cafeteria) Jews Gate The Med Steps (We do not always take this route) O’Hara’s Battery (the Highest Point) The Sky Walkway The Top of the Charles V Steps The Cable Car Top Station The Great Siege Tunnels (We do not always visit the Great Siege Tunnels, but if you want to message me so that this can be arranged). The World War 2 Tunnels (We do not always visit the WW2 Tunnels, but if you want to message me so that this can be arranged).

5.00I was recommended Stephen by my colleagues when we were speaking about travelling to Gibraltar, and I am extremely grateful for that as this tour was amazing! I booked a private tour for a reasonable price, open for negotiation and my communication with Stephen during booking was extremely clear and simple. Despite being limited by shore time from my cruise, Stephen was extremely considerate of the time restraints yet was also very attentive to our pacing based on my physical fitness. Stephen is immensely knowledgeable and an experienced and certified guide, and chatting with him during our walks between stops was a pleasure. I got my steps in with great company, and will be recommending him to all my friends and colleagues who are visiting Gibraltar! I found it much easier to visit his website directly and contact him through WhatsApp and Email, but Stephen is very responsive and can be reached through other popular mediums as well. Can't recommend him enough, as I had a wonderful seeing the beautiful Rock with him. Really made me consider moving here, for the impression I now have of Gibraltar in part thanks to Stephen!

5.00We highly enjoyed Stephens walking tour. Spending 3-4 hours time with him we did not only enjoy the famous spots of Gibraltar, but also learned a lot about life in Gibraltar. Stephen was very friendly and adapted to our speed and wishes what to see or where to spent more time! The communication leading up to the tour has been very clear. We definitely would do a tour with Stephen again!

5.00This was such a great experience! My partner and I enjoyed this even more than we thought we would. The mix of history, nature, physicality and the most amazing views, all with a fantastic guide and host in Stephen. A moderate amount of fitness is required, and even then it is challenging, but it is also very rewarding and provides a great sense of achievement on completion. There is a mix of hills and steps, bitumen and rocks and shade and sun. We brought a 600ml water each but I would recommend taking more, at least a 1.25 litre water each. And do wear a hat and sunscreen. We began right on time, steadily working our way up and we saw some cute monkeys after only a short while! There were many historical sites that we stopped at, and Stephen was a wealth of information at every turn. I particularly enjoyed learning about the defense history but also learning all about how Gibraltar functions today independently of the UK and Spain. It was all super interesting and the hike would not have been anywhere near as enjoyable without Stephen guiding the way and providing the backstory for all that we saw. He also took us into St.Michaels cave and the WW2 tunnels which were so impressive. You do pay another £30 (by card only) to gain access to the rock/nature reserve and are provided with an access wristband but it's still a great value afternoon out. There are also toilets on the route for convenience. The views from the top were incredible! I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. It is for sure one of the absolute highlights of our trip and we will be talking about it for a long time. Thank you so much Stephen for taking us up and showing us your amazing backyard

4.00I went on the Upper Rock walking tour with Stephen. We met at the library in Gibraltar and then hiked up to the National Park. It’s a hiking tour, and that’s what makes it special. At first, I wondered where all the tourists were, as you don’t come across many on the way up. You only meet them at the main attractions. The hike up is strenuous, though I wasn’t feeling particularly fit that day either. But the view and the feeling are definitely worth it. Stephen took me along the Mediterranean Trail. It was incredibly beautiful. Stephen is a very nice, laid-back chap and, apart from information about the history of the mountain, you can also ask him about Gibraltar. It was fun hiking up there with Stephen – thank you, Stephen!

5.00The ultimate experience to discover even the hidden beauties of the Rock. Me and my GF booked the tour deirectly with Stephe's website. He was open ond communicative from the the very first moment, providing useful hints and adjusting the tour to our needs. We had a great tour, a fantastyc day over there. Stephen is a great and very much professional guide, sharing his deep knowledge of history and modern days of Gibraltar. We were taken to all major sights plus to hidden gems that those poor guys are taken by a taxi to the top are surely missed. We had to drive back to Seville, so there was no time to see the tunnels much to our regret. We got chnce to come back after all. See you there again Stephen this autumn or next spring.

5.00This is, admittedly, a strenuous hike, but it was the perfect way to experience the "Rock of Gibraltar". Stephen proved to be a wonderful guide; his knowledge of the area and its history greatly enriched our day. We were so glad we chose this tour instead of riding to the top in a taxi (as most people do). I highly recommend this tour for anyone else not wanting to "ride to the top". It's truly a fun, memorable way to experience Gibraltar.

5.00We had a great time on our tour with Stephen. Finding the meet up spot was very clear and Stephen was an excellent guide with knowledge about everything from WWII to everyday life in Gibraltar. The tour did not feel rushed and Stephen was willing to go at whatever pace worked with the group. I’d highly recommend this tour.
