Guaranteed Sightings! 7 Seas Whale Watch is located in the heart of historic downtown Gloucester, MA and in one of the busiest parts of Gloucester harbor. As soon as you board the Privateer you will be surrounded by the sights and sounds of Gloucester’s working waterfront. You may see fishing boats unloading fish, lobster men baiting and setting their traps, and perhaps even some of our indigenous wildlife such as Harbor seals, Gray seals, and various species of birds. The tour begins with a harbor tour of Gloucester Harbor starting with Cape Pond Ice (which most of you have seen on Wicked Tuna and ends at the Dog Bar Breakwater. A typical trip is anywhere from 3-4 hours but may be extended if the whales move further out for feed. The Privateer IV was built for 300 passengers but we only book to 150 to ensure the comfort and safety of our passengers and is equipped with restrooms, and on-board food Galley and bar.

5.00This whale watching trip was beyond expectations; what everyone hopes for but few get to actually get to experience. The beauty of these animals was on full display due to so many sightings. The mother's with calves swan along side the boat, many breaching with a few full flips. The crew gave fantastic detail as they knew specific whales and their family trees. Wonderful experience whether a family outing, or just a getaway for a few hrs. Easy to find, parking, restaurant and restrooms all available before entry onto ship.

5.00Wonderful trip. Saw lots of whales including some that were breaching. Also saw a mother and a calf. Snacks on board are reasonably priced ($3-6). Restrooms are clean. Boat is not overcrowded. Pro tip: Leave extra time to park and pay at public parking lot since their lot fills up fast.

5.00Amazing experience! The crew and guides were professional, knowledgeable, and fun. It is difficult to describe the effect of seeing whales and other marine life in their natural habitat, but it is.an experience that does have a lasting impact. 7 Seas Whale Watch made it possible. 100% recommend!!

5.00Absolutely Wonderful! Ordering a ticket online through Viator was simple. Just signed in at the registration shack and got a paper ticket to board. The trip took us about 28.5 miles out to see the most magnificent humpbacks. We saw all kinds of behaviors from bubbles, circular feeding, fin slaps, breaching, tails and heads out. Majestic creatures and the crew were great. I do recommend an anti-nausea med (Bonine causes less drowsiness). I shared with fellow passenger who needed it.

5.00The whale sighting was surreal—an incredible experience to see these gentle giants in their natural habitat. The staff onboard were friendly, helpful, and regularly checked in with passengers to answer any questions. Amanda's explanations were clear, engaging, and informative, which added a lot to the experience. I arrived early and was directed by a staff member to wait under a tree. However, it would have been helpful if he had also mentioned that I needed to check in my online ticket at the small office first. Arriving at 9:45 a.m. turned out to be a bit too early, as we ended up queuing under the sun for some time. That said, the boat departed on schedule, and overall it was a memorable and enjoyable experience.

5.00We saw dozens of whales on our trip to Stallewageb bank. They were literally on parade. We saw mothers and calves double-breaching! The captain even let the kids into the cockpit and let them drive the boat. The naturalist on board spent so much time answering questions and sharing information about the animals. It was magical!

5.00What a wonderful operation this company has! The boat is very clean and well maintained. The captain communicated several times about landmarks on the coast, where we were heading to see the whales. They have a naturist on board and she described the types of whales we might see, their habits, etc. We were very fortunate to see many whales and their calves. we floated around with 2 other whale watching boats and spent at least 30-45" in an area off Provincetown (Cape Cod). We traveled about 1.5 hours from Gloucester to get to this area. Boat ride was wonderful, BUT you will need a jacket, a hat that will not blow off, and sunglasses and sunscreen. My wife took videos on one side of the boat, and I took pictures from my side. An outstanding time!! The boat does have food/beverages/alcohol on board, prices were not horrible. Wanted a souvenir shirt, but I didn't think the quality was worth the prices. Overall, we would do it again with 7 Seas!!
