The Pyramid Lake Canoe Adventure with Wild Current Outfitters is an excellent way to start or finish your day in Jasper National Park. Join a small group, on a unique canoe adventure for couples, friends, and families, and be blown away by the numerous snowcapped peaks and the chance to see the wildlife that calls the area home. Keep an eye out for osprey, loons, muskrat, and beaver. Fingers-crossed, you may even see moose, bear, elk, deer, and wolves!

Prepare to experience a relaxing paddle adventure in a cedar strip canoe. Guided by a certified knowledgeable local guide you will be plying the waters of Pyramid Lake at the base of Pyramid Mountain, experiencing the laid-back mode of transportation used in Canada for generations. After a quick on-shore learn to paddle session and being suited up with a PFD we are ready to go. Departing from the sandy beach at Pyramid Lake Resort you can experience a 2.5 to 3 hour trip on a 25 foot long locally sourced handcrafted cedar strip canoe. Built for maximum stability and stocked with an ample supply of blankets and outerwear for those cool mornings this canoe is a comfortable craft for groups of up to 6 people. The tour circumnavigates a clear mountain lake taking in classic Rocky Mountain vistas, wildlife viewing opportunities, and a shore-side stop halfway through the tour for a chance to stretch our legs and have shore side snacks including fruit, baked goods, and a coffee and tea service. After the break which perchance may have included a swim on a sandy beach, we continue on the last leg of the tour finishing back at our point of departure.

5.00Mike you are something else ! Your intimate connection to this fascinating Lake just makes me want to listen to you more and more. Your care for all that happens on and in the Lake is to be respected, From the Loons to the Eagles to the Wild Life that frequent the lake like Moose , taught us the careful Eco that Mother Nature has created. But serving Tea ( or Hot Chocolate) and Cakes within the Canoe brought and extra smile and extend your warm heart to us all. Despite canoeing being our first occasion it was simple fun and surprisingly easy under your tutor ledge. Anybody reading this our message is simple, miss this Adventure at your peril . Hope you have a great season and keep building these impeccable Cedarwood stable Canoes !

5.00Top 10 day! Our favorite during a recent trip to Jasper! Spectacular day canoeing in the lake starting with the beautiful brand new canoe. Perfectly outfitted with blankets to sit on and binoculars for each person. And good thing as we used them to better see the bald eagle and loons that we came upon! Our guide, Mike, was a delight. We learned a lot from him and was grateful for his keen eye spotting wildlife, foliage and hoof prints. The break with snacks made the day extra special. Our day on the lake was our last day in Jasper and our trip could not have ended any better.
Even in the rain this is a recommended tour.

5.00Very nice tour with Mike who goes to great lengths to let his clients spend a pleasant time amidst the beautiful nature. Canoe is beautiful piece of workmanship. Mike takes very good care of you, even in rain it is nice.
To be done again immediately!

5.00With my partner, we took this canoe tour of Pyramid Lake, just a few minutes' drive from Jasper. The guide Mike accompanied us, explaining many interesting things about the local wildlife, the plants surrounding the lake, and also about the town. Time flew by; it was a pleasant, fun, and deeply educational experience. I recommend it even to those, like me, who do not have much experience with rowing and similar activities; it is absolutely doable.

5.00We chose Mike after reading the online reviews, and we can only confirm: it was a wonderful experience! We spent an hour and a half on Pyramid Lake. We had a great time and enjoyed a nice chat with Mike, who also offered us some delicious food. He explained many things to us, and we even saw a beautiful bald eagle that posed for photos in all its glory. Highly recommended!

5.00We arrived after excellent communication with Mike beforehand. The canoe is a beautiful, hand made wooden and glides effortlessly through the beautiful waters of Pyramid Lake. We were given life vests, blankets to sit on, binoculars (if required) and basic and sensible instructions. Our paddle was just brilliant, Mike spoke about the landscape, the wildlife, the ecology of the region and answered all our questions with humour and obvious enthusiasm and excitement. Although we saw no large animals, the birds were plentiful and Mike knew the calls and info about them all. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough! Thank you Mike, a memorable evening!

5.00What an experience. From when Mike picked us up to Travis who took us on the beautiful handmade canoe itself, it was incredible. The personal touch / private guide adventure was just what we needed as a family of 4 with two teens. The cruise around the Lake was peaceful, where Travis showed us a few local spots around the water including wildlife and a private beach. Great conversation, local baked treats and beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much, highly recommend this to anyone and if we are ever back in this part of the world we will come back that’s a promise.

5.00This is the second time we did the trip on pyramid lake with Mike. This time we were joined by our friends. Was absolutely fantastic and real good fun, of course it rained, but this just added to the fun. Lots of laughs and memories made. If there is one thing you do in Jasper make this it you won’t be disappointed. We will be back for a third time I’m sure . Thanks again Mike
