• More Than a Wine Tasting—A Masterclass in Appreciating Wine

  I’ve done plenty of wine tastings over the years, but this was, without question, one of the most educational and enjoyable wine experiences I’ve ever had. I booked what was supposed to be a small-group tasting, but by chance it turned into a private session with Artem—and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. From the very beginning, it was clear that this wasn’t going to be a typical “here’s your wine, enjoy” tasting. Artem took the time to explain what wine tasting actually is and how professionals evaluate wine. He walked me through everything from appearance and aromas to identifying flavor profiles, acidity, tannins, body, and finish. Rather than overwhelming me with technical jargon, he explained each concept in a way that was engaging, practical, and easy to understand. The tasting itself was thoughtfully designed, allowing me to compare different wines while putting what I had just learned into practice. One of the highlights of the evening was tasting some exceptional Argentine wines, including a remarkable Gran Enemigo Cabernet Franc, while learning the stories behind the wines and the winemaking process. What impressed me most was Artem’s ability to teach. By the end of the session, I was genuinely surprised by how much I had learned. We even finished the evening with a wine roulette challenge, where I had to identify the characteristics of a mystery wine using everything he had taught me. To my amazement… I actually made a pretty decent guess! I walked in expecting to simply drink wine and left feeling like I had gained a completely new appreciation for it. Beyond his knowledge of wine, Artem was simply wonderful to spend an evening with. Our conversations naturally extended beyond wine, and I learned that he’s also an attorney in addition to being a certified sommelier. His curiosity, passion, and ability to connect with people made the experience feel incredibly personal rather than scripted. If you’re someone who loves wine—or even if you’re just beginning your journey—I can’t recommend this experience enough. You’ll leave with far more than memories of great wines. You’ll leave understanding what you’re drinking and appreciating every glass in an entirely new way. Thank you, Artem, for an unforgettable evening. The next time I open a bottle of wine, I’ll be thinking about everything you taught me.

  I had such a great time at 88 Loco's Wine Tasting experience. It was not only good wine, but good laughs, good conversation, and great snacks. A must do experience for your trip in Mendoza.

  We had such a wonderful wine tasting experience with Artem in Mendoza. The location was easy to reach, and the atmosphere was warm, relaxed, and very welcoming from the very beginning. Artem is an amazing sommelier — knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly easy to talk to. He answered every question with patience and shared so much useful information about Argentine wines, tasting techniques, and local wine culture. Starting our Mendoza wine journey with this tasting was honestly one of the best decisions we made: we learned how to properly taste wine and felt much more prepared and confident before visiting wineries afterwards. The 88Locos Wines were excellent, and the whole experience felt authentic, soulful, and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Mendoza, especially if you are just beginning to explore the world of wine.

  The wine tasting experience was great! I tried several different wines. The host was very, very knowledgeable, shared a ton of information, answered all of my questions and even gave me a free bottle of the wine that I liked the most. Conveniently located in the city so super easy to get to. Esta experiencia fue estupenda! Aprendí mucho sobre vinos y como probarlos en una manera más profesional. Los chicos eran muy amables, respondieron todas mis preguntas y me regalaron una botella de mi vino favorito. Ubicación muy conveniente. Recomiendo!
