The basilica hosts thousands of visitors per year. There are four guides who speak English, including me. My colleagues and I want to use our language skills to maximize your 1.5 hours visit to this beautiful site and city. In addition to the basilica, view of the presidential palace, visit to the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Foundation for Peace, and Crocodile Lake, we can visit a cacao plantation (3 km from basilica), artisanal village (20 km from basilica), the golf course (1 km from basilica) or have lunch together.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Peace

I am an accredited guide, and I will meet you at the check-in booth when your vehicle enters the basilica grounds. We will park, use the restroom, and then start the tour. We will spend 60-90 minutes learning about the history, architecture, sculptures, and controversy surrounding the largest church in the world. The TripAdvisor price is the price of the entry ticket to the Basilica. As a certified guide, I give the tours for free. I posted the listing so travelers know that English-speaking guides are available and can be reserved via TripAdvisor in advance.

Great guide. Best of Yamoussokro Jean Luc is very cheerful. Nice guy. A big fan of Senegal and the Senegalese football team. 💕

I thought the tour included other sites in Yamoussoukro, but upon closer read the description says "with views of ..." So the hour was spent touring the Basilica, which is indeed beautiful. My English guide Constant is well informed and easy to chat with. Recommend, especially for the price.

Our guide Jean Luc told us a lot about for history and the construction and construction. All in easy to understand English. Seeing the basilica up close is impressive.

Jean Luc was an amazing guide, spoke very good English and was passionate and informative with all he spoke about regarding the Basilica. If you find yourself in Yamoussoukro, do yourself a favour and book this tour! Jean Luc can also help with other things to do around the area!

Johan was very personable and knowledgeable about the Basilica. He happily climbed to the mezzanine to show me the broader view. Very fun cross-culture exchange with him!!

Jean Luc did a fabulous job communicating with me after I contacted him with questions about my booking. His joyful personality made for a wonderful tour of the basilica. I learned so much and I learned it in ENGLISH. Thank you! Afterwards, because I had expressed interest, he connected me with another tour guide who took me to a few more interest points around the city. He was also extremely knowledgeable, personable and easy to get along with. All in all it was a delightful way to spend the day and more importantly it felt like I was doing it with friends. These guys are great! Very professional and very pleasant. The other reviews give great pointers, which I found to be very helpful as well.

Jean-Luc is an English (and French) speaking guide at the Our Lady of Peace Basilica. Book with him in advance, and he’ll facilitate the visit to the giant beautiful church. You can then chat with him about a tour to see the other highlights of Yamoussoukro like the beloved Former President’s Foundation, Palace as well as the golf course. There are cocoa plantations and an artisan shopping village nearby as well if you want to bring Jean-Luc with you in your car. He can organize a vehicle as well if necessary.
