As well as visiting the famous waterfalls of Seljalandsfoss and Skógafoss; the black-sand beach at Vík, and Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, explore a natural ice cave in all its glory. During the winter months, at night, far away from the city, you will also have the opportunity to spot the northern lights.

Good hiking shoes are recommended
Hiking boots are available for rent, 1000 ISK per person
You are required to hike up to three hours in a day

This tour has the flexibility to make the most of the seasonal changes such as changes in weather and conditions. During the summer Iceland is characterized by energizing bright nights and midnight sun. Between August and May, if the forecast is suitable, you might even be able to spot the magical show put on by the Northern Lights. It is important to note that a guided Northern Lights hunt is however not included in the tour. Other wonderful and interesting possibilities can also come up during your south coast tour with us as Iceland is full of surprises.
We use a couple of different ice caves for our 2 day South Coast tour. Ice caves are ever-changing and unpredictable natural phenomena. We usually visit the Crystal Cave at Breiðmerkurjökull during this tour but when the Crystal Cave is inaccessible we will most likely visit Katla Ice Cave. Which ice cave is chosen will however always depend upon the conditions and safety considerations on the day, sometimes a different ice cave will be visited. If conditions do not allow us to visit an ice cave a glacier hike will be offered as an alternative.
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

Seljalandsfoss waterfall
Seljalandsfoss is a beautiful waterfall in South Iceland with a 60-meter (197 ft) cascade. What makes it unique is that visitors can walk behind the falls into a small cave, offering a spectacular 360° view. The water originates from the Eyjafjallajökull glacier volcano.
Skogafoss
Skógafoss is one of Iceland's largest waterfalls, with a width of 25 meters (82 feet) and a drop of 60 meters (197 feet). It is located on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland. A staircase leads to the top of the waterfall, where you can look down at the thundering spectacle. According to legend, the first Viking settler in the area, Þrasi Þórólfsson, buried a treasure in a cave behind the waterfall.aterfall

Amazing trip, we did get very lucky with the weather which elevated the whole tour. Wendy is such a good guide, she had really interesting anecdotes to tell us throughout the tour and was able to answer all our questions. The time she gave us on each visit was optimal and she went above and beyond to try to show us northern lights at night. The spots included in the visit are mesmerizing and the number of stops we did felt very adequate for 2 days. Also Wendy is such a good driver, we felt absolutely safe. We look forward to booking another (longer) tour for our next visit in Iceland :)

Wendy was great. Driving and telling us stories. Safety number one. Even a fender bender was a non event. A smooth slow motion. Fender bender which was the other drivers fault and she veered away from driver to minimize contact. 5 min delay and we were off.

Tour guide Hjalti was extremely professional and shared a wealth of historical and cultural information which were little known. He also stopped at interesting spots along the way so we could get out and take pictures. Besides, the time management was very well. Many thanks once again.

Undoubtedly the best tour I’ve ever booked in Iceland! Every stop was absolutely breathtaking, with Jökulsárlón and the ice cave standing out as highlights. Unfortunately I can’t fully remember our guide’s name but he was amazing, highly attentive during snowstorms and incredibly knowledgeable.
