Ahu Nau Nau
The clear morning light is great in the morning for capturing images of the Beautiful Royal beach at Anakena
Ahu Te Pito Kura
At ten metres tall, here lies one of the tallest moai ever to be erected, now but a vestige of its former glory. Nearby sits the famous magnetic circular stone which legend says came to Easter Island from the ancient homeland of Hiva with the first king, Hotu Matuʻa.
One Makihi
One Makihi is an unrestored conglomerate of ahu platforms sitting as they have been for over two hundred years since the islanders turned on the traditions of their ancestors and began toppling the hundreds of moai found throughout the island.
Ahu Tongariki
Restored between 1992 and 1996, this is the most awe inspiring of the various platforms. Here, fifteen of the largest moai set their stone faces like flint, looking eternally toward the setting of the sun, as well and the comparatively insignificant tourists who come to pay them homage.
Rano Raraku
This is the birthplace of the moai, a virtual quarry of statues. Here, hundreds of handsome heads and torsos sit in various stages of carving, still waiting to be transported to their various ahu located all over the island.
Historic Pathways Small Group
Puna Pau
As if it wasn’t enough to make huge monolithic statues, in the latter years, large scoria topknots were made and fitted on the heads of the moai. Puna Pau is the small crater where these adornments were made.
Ahu Vinapu
The site of some of the island's most beautiful stonework, reminiscent of the legendary masonary found in the great Inca civilization of South America.
A large volcanic crater which plunges 200 meters below to a beautiful lake. With a great panoramic view of the island, it is probably the Easter Island's most magnificent natural wonder.
Orongo
The ceremonial village, where during the 18th and 19th centuries, one of the most interesting political ceremonies happened once a year as different tribes competed to become the leader of the island. In a breathtaking sports event that involved climbing down cliffs, swimming out to the islets off the coast, the islanders came to this beautiful part of the island to see who would be their next ruler.
Ahu Akivi
A restored site of seven moai, Ahu Akivi is said to represent the first seven explorers who came to Easter Island. These moai are the only group of statues looking out to the sea.
Ana Te Pahu
Like many volcanic islands, Easter Island is riddled with lava tubes. Ana Te Pahu is one of the more extensive networks found on the island and shows how the ancient Rapanui people used these cave networks to live, collect water, plant vegetables and hide from aggressive visitors from outside in the 18th and 19th centuries.

5.00We visited Rapa Nui for our honeymoon in July 2025 and chose the two full-day and two half-day tour option with Green Island Tours and honestly, we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. Our guide, Yoyo, was simply incredible. From the very beginning, he made us feel like we were exploring the island with an old friend rather than a traditional guide. His passion for Rapa Nui, along with his deep knowledge of its history and culture, brought every site and story to life in the most engaging way. Thank you Green Island tours for making our honeymoon was the adventure of a lifetime. Every day was so special and we genuinely loved every moment. We can’t recommend them highly enough. 5.00Our time in Rapa Nui was incredible and so much of this was because of our experience with Yoyo and Green Island Tours. I honestly can’t say enough good things about them! * Communication before we arrived was excellent. And each night we received a message letting us know what and who to expect in the morning. They were also very quick to get back in touch if we had a question. * Our guide was Yoyo and he made us feel like family. He is so knowledgeable about the island (not just the Moai). We had our children with us (12 and 15) and he was great at adding little pieces of fun for them (where to take funny pictures for their ‘stories’, picking fruit from a tree for them to taste etc). Plus he knew everyone and everywhere we went people greeted us with huge smiles. * The private or small group is the best option and worth it! We saw much larger groups touring and overheard tri-lingual explanations from guides for everyone in their group. I can’t imagine these groups had the same rich experience that we did. The 1:1 time with our guide meant there was time to answer every question and we had the flexibility to make stops etc. * Yoyo was able to connect us and made excellent recommendations with other people for experiences (surf lessons for the kids, best restaurants for ceviche, how to get standby tickets for a cultural show etc). We are leaving the island today and filled with gratitude for our time here and that we made the choice to go with Green Island Tours. They are good people who are proud of the history and culture of the island - and while we were very much tourists while we were here - I do believe that we are leaving the island with knowledge for the history, appreciation for the culture and new some new friends to visit again one day.

5.00A fabulous couple of days spent with Green Island Tours exploring the culture and landscape of Easter Island. The itinerary covered everything I wanted to see and the guide was very knowledgeable and was great fun to be with. I have no reservations in recommending Green Island Tours

5.00In the shoulder season they typically do not do small group tours so we originally booked private tours directly from their website. Since we had asked about group tours they did contact us about adding people to our tours and giving us a refund for the difference. We accepted that offer. We did both tours with Heki’i. There were 7 of us on the Moai Monuments tour and 5 of us on the Historic Pathways tour. Heki’i was friendly, punctual, a safe driver, and spoke English very well. We enjoyed the tours with Green Island Tours. I am glad we were able to do these as small group tours to reduce the cost.

5.00I booked the two full day tours, Moai Monuments and Historic Pathways along with Stargazing and Tongariki Sunrise. Got excellent communication from the office prior to booking, I was traveling by myself and wanted to make sure the tour had enough people prior to booking. Yoyo was our tour guide for both the Moai Monuments and Historic Pathways tours. Both were excellent and I learned a lot about the monuments and the history of the island. We were never rushed and had plenty of time to walk around the various sites. I am not an astronomy person but did enjoy the stargazing tour which was led by Mark. We had seats to sit while he showed us the various constellations with stories and then they had telescopes set up of various planets that we could investigate. We then went to Ahu Nau Nau where we had our photo taken with the Moai and the star sky behind us. The sunrise tour was beautiful and worked out well since on the Monuments tour it was raining when we were there. For the sunrise the weather was gorgeous.

5.00The tour was amazing. Yoyo was our guide each day and he really was an awesome guide. We actually added on Stargazing and sunrise tours. I highly recommend the whole package. We got such good information about the history of the island and the Moai. Yoyo always made sure we had good opportunities for photos and always took time to answer our questions. Mark was the orator for the stargazing. He explained to us how they use to use the stars to navigate. He provided chairs and gave us such a good explanation without being too much. He pointed out many constellations as well as he had two telescopes for us. One to view the moon and the other to view Jupiter and 4 of its moons (visible that day). It does have to be a mostly clear night to experince this adventure. He also took photos of us with midnight sky. Yoyo was also our guide for the sunrise tour on the last morning. He knew the perfect spot for us to sit and watch so that we would not only be away from the other tour groups, but have amazing photo opportunities. I highly recommend booking with Green Island Tours. The small group tour of only 8 people was perfect. Without a doubt I would book with them again. And their communication from inquiry and through our departure from the island was excellent.

5.00The Cruise Shore Excursion "2 day small group tour of Moai Monuments and historic pathways" was excellent. Over the course of the 2 days we saw statues located throughout the island plus the volcano plus other historic sites and we learned so much! The tour company was well orgnized and our guide was amazing, being a native to Easter Island with many local stories. We walked a lot and saw much! We highly recommend this tour . (note: only partial refunds if ship doesn't make port;)

5.00I did the two day tour with Green Island Tours. It was the perfect tour to get the overview of the Moai history and see the major sites of Easter Island. I had Yoyo as the tour guide and he has a lot of knowledge about the Moai history and is very effective in sharing his knowledge. I really appreciate this given that you need a tour guide to see the sites in the Rapa Nui park. This is definitely one of the best tours.

5.00We had a great day with yo-yo on outmr private day adventure. We hiked the coastline, swam in tide pools, walked pastures with wild horses and enjoyed many hidden parts of the island. A truly great day.
