You will be picked up from your accommodation, and from there, set out to explore the countryside, heading towards the South Coast of Iceland.
Seljalandsfoss waterfall
The adventure begins when we pick you up in Reykjavík in a small and comfortable minibus before heading straight to the South. Our arrival is announced by the powerful theatrics of Seljalandsfoss. Bring a raincoat and you’ll be able to make the short hike behind the falls. The scene behind the fall and the trembling ground from the power of the falling water makes for an automatic Instagram blockbuster!
Skogafoss
Further east along the coast is Skógafoss waterfall. Skógafoss is an incredibly picturesque sight. Tucked in a little gorge, the river Skógá tumbles down a 60 meter cliff before continuing down the landscape towards the Atlantic Ocean. Alongside the gorge a staircase can take you to the shelf above the waterfall for stunning views. See if you can count your steps on your way up.
Reynisfjara Beach
Heading further east, we visit the black sand beach of Reynisfjara where the Atlantic coastline presents massive waves hitting the unique basalt columns in the cliffs above the sand. Rock pillars in the water and the cliffs of Dýrhólaey are seen in the distance. This area of the south is also a paradise for bird lovers, as puffins and dozens of other unique species nest on top of these cliffs in the summertime from June to August.
Solheimajokull Glacier
You will hike on a glacier and have fun! All the glacier gears are included, you just need to bring your hiking boots and waterproof clothes (available for rent in case needed)

Heading off on the second day, you’ll head to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, a 200m deep glacial lagoon fed by Breiðamerkurjökull, an outlet glacier of Europe’s largest glacier. Enormous icebergs come from Breiðamerkurjökull all year round so the lagoon is usually filled with ice that floats south. Tröll Expeditions will give you the opportunity to join a boat ride among the icebergs during summer time and get a closer look of the millenary ice.
Fellsfjara
On the other side of the road the icebergs from Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon float into the Atlantic Ocean where they are quickly thrown back to shore by the tide and winds. This black sand beach is full of smaller ice rocks in all shapes and sizes, sparkling like diamonds in the daylight. The ice itself comes in all shades of white and blue forming beautiful contrasts, guaranteed to make your Instagram account pop!
Reykjavik
You will be back to Reykjavik capital city at around 19.00. The drop off takes usually 15-30 minutes depending on the traffic.

5.00We joined this tour on 24th and 25th December, and I must say that our guide and driver Monica deserves a full five-star rating. It was a comfortable minibus carrying 19 passengers on a two-day tour. The bus was well heated and had plenty of charging points. Monica is incredibly friendly, professional, and attentive to every single person on the coach. She made sure everyone felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout the journey. She also shared Iceland’s history and local stories in a fun and engaging way, and constantly interacted with us through conversations and jokes, creating a very warm and enjoyable atmosphere. She took us to a variety of beautiful attractions and scenic spots along the way. Although the weather on the first day was not ideal and it rained throughout the day, the entire journey remained cheerful, relaxed, and full of laughter, thanks to Monica’s positive attitude and excellent organisation. As the tour took place during the Christmas period, many restaurants were closed or operating with limited hours. Despite this, Monica went above and beyond to help us find suitable places for lunch, making every effort to ensure no one was left without a meal. This level of care and dedication truly stood out. Monica is genuinely sincere, passionate about her work, and delivers first-class service. She turned the tour into a truly memorable experience, and I would highly recommend her to anyone joining this tour.

5.00Just came back from the tour, all the staffs are very nice and friendly. I have to give a shout out to my tour guide Rocky, he is the best tour guide I ever met. During the journey he kept everyone happy and entertained. He also told us a lots different stories about Iceland and some history also. Definitely will book it again in the future and book a longer tour.

5.00Best experience and very memorable trip in Iceland. Bran was our guide and he was very friendly and professional. Made this packed 2 day itinerary very enjoyable. Edgar, the professional glacier hiking guide was amazing as well. Very friendly and patient for a non hiker like me. Will definitely come back and tour again with Troll with the family

5.00We had an amazing trip and the highlight was definitely the hike on the glacier. Bran was an excellent guide. Got us to where we needed to and kept us all positive despite worrisome weather forecast. But we lucked out and didn’t get rained or snowed in during our glacier hike. Our glacier guide, Edgar, was also amazing and showed us unicorn ice! Would definitely recommend this tour and will come again!
