Little Island Officially opening to the public free of charge in 2021, the floating park has become a must-see for New York City influencers since its opening. Its unique and refreshing design supports the park, which floats above the Hudson River, by 132 concrete "tulips" of varying heights, forming 2.4 acres of hills and winding paths. The entire island is home to approximately 400 different species of trees, shrubs, ground covers, and perennials, including at least 100 different tree species adapted to the New York climate. Each corner of the island represents a different microclimate, depending on the topography, sunlight, and wind conditions.
