My husband and I had the most amazing time on this tour! We were picked up in the morning at our quaint hotel in Luang Namtha and taken to the morning market, where our guides picked out the fresh food and fish for our journey. After a short ride, we began our trek through the lush forest. Our guide Sone spoke great English and gave us a lot of information about the vegetarion. We saw so many beautiful butterflies 🦋 along the way! We stopped for a lunch, fish cooked over a campfire with fresh chiles and sticky rice, served on a banana leaf! We continued on to the local village for our homestay. It was so interesting to spend time among the locals, interact and share a meal (and a few Beerlao!) with them and get a taste for village life. After breakfast the next morning, we visited the school, did some archery, and pounded rice in the traditional manner. Then, we loaded up our gear for a river kayak adventure! Our guide Khang was very knowledgeable about the river and we had a blast getting splashed in spots and relaxing in others as we floated through the spectacular greenery of the Laotian jungle. We stopped at another village and purchased some local handicrafts and had lunch on a river Bank. We were truly sad when our adventure ended thar afternoon. Everything about this experience, from the transportation to our excellent guides to the delicious food and the incredible scenery was perfect. This was a truly unforgettable tour!

We decided spontaneously for the 2-day tour with trekking and kayaking and that was just right. Day 1: Shopping at the market in Luang Namtha for our lunch. Trekking in the jungle with many explanations about the plants and repeatedly edible samples (ratan, small nuts, spices). Lunch prepared by our guides with “cookware” of freshly whipped bamboo served on a “tablecloth” of banana leaves. Homestay in a village, incl. a dance performance with hands-on part. At night a dreamlike starry sky. Day 2: A good five hours inflatable kayak incl. White water 2-3. Another lunch prepared and served in bamboo. And by the way, our guides made us spoons, cups and rings out of bamboo. The day could only have been topped with real kayaks can. Thank you very much
