Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

You will be picked from your Mombasa hotel at 6:30am . This entire trip can take about 5-6 hours. We will have a short break at around 0830am for refreshments. We proceed on through Voi and wundanyi towns arriving the Taita hills Game sanctuary around 11:00am. This will be a good time to go for a short game drive in this beautiful sanctuary. Game drive in this park is relatively easy with high chances of spotting herds of elephants, buffalos, giraffes, variety of Gazelle and probably one of the big cats. After 2 hours we check into the Taita Hills Lodge for our lunch. The Lodge is tastefully furnished and set on a hill with beautiful views of the Taita Hills after which it is named. Enjoy your lunch followed by a time of relaxation in the lounge. Afterwards, we will head back into the sanctuary proceed on with another game driver en route the Salt lick Safari lodge which is our lodge for the night. Enjoy the underground observatory at the Salt lick before your dinner and overnight

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

Taita Hills wildlife Sanctuary is a privately owned wildlife sanctuary in Kenya. It is located in Taita-taveta County approximately 220 kilometers from Mombasa. The sanctuary covers an area of 28,000 acres (110 km2), and is adjacent to Tsavo west national park and the LUMO Community wildlife sanctuary. It hosts cape buffalo, African bush elephant, Leopard, warthog, lion, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, hartebeest, impala, waterbuck, Thomson’s gazelle, lesser kudu, kirks dik-dik, and other smaller animals, including a great diversity of birdlife.

Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary

Arise early to have a cup of coffee then head out for an early morning game drive. We will be searching for early action of the Cats as they prefer to hunt early around this time. We shall also enjoy the magnificent rays of a Kenyan sun rise. Thereafter we will return to the lodge by 0830hrs for a full and proper breakfast. Have a midmorning relaxation until 10:00am when we head out from this sanctuary. Our lunch today will be in Voi town which is on our way as we head back to Mombasa. We plan to arrive back to our Mombasa hotel before sunset. End of the tour.
