As you venture ten miles into the rugged interior, you will view the protected side of Catalina Island seldom seen by most visitors. Naturalist onboard enriches experience with wildlife and inside knowledge of the areas visiting during the tour.

You MUST arrive 15 minutes prior to boarding to check in. We leave promptly at the scheduled time and cannot wait. When booking travel to the island please make sure to give enough time from arrival to island to get to tour departure location.
We are located on Catalina Island, You must secure transportation to the island to take the tour. There are no refunds if you miss the tour.
TRAVEL TO CATALINA IS NOT INCLUDED. Transportation needed by Ferry to Island.
Children Under 5 will not be able to participate in the tour.

As you venture ten miles into the rugged interior, you will view the protected side of Catalina Island seldom seen by most visitors. Have the chance to encounter wildlife such as bison, deer, bald eagles, ravens, or even the Catalina Island fox. There is a photo opportunity around every turn as we climb to the Airport-in-the-Sky. At this stop, visit the Nature Center and peer down at one of Catalina’s original Native American gathering sites. The fee to the Catalina Island Conservancy directly supports the preservation of the animals, endangered species, and endemic plants on Catalina Island. Tours leave from The Cabrillo Mole. **we highly suggest you secure transportation to Catalina island prior to booking tour to confirm you can get to the tour as the boat to the island sells out quickly. Catalina Express or Newport Flyer for your transportation needs.

2.00Not worth the time or the money. The stop halfway at the airport is cool, but the tour guide was terrible along the way. She didn't tell us much about the history of the island, but did feel the need to tell us things like “the Chinese restaurant now has crispy noodles”. Didn’t tell us much more than a Google maps search. The ride is also really rough.

5.00Perhaps you could recommend to bring some eye protection for the unpaved part of the road. (Like glasses) . Otherwise the tour was awesome and informative ! We got a chance to see a bison too !

5.00The tour guide, Sergio, is well-versed in the island's history, and our driver is excellent! We saw one bison on our tour of the island.

4.001 hour mostly on unpaved roads from Avalon to airport, for quick 10-15 min stretching and pee, then 1 hour back. Saw 4 animals during whole trip; one bison, a few foxes, one deer, and many ravens. Guide did lots of narration. Wish to see more animals, have more stops for pictures, and narrate when car idling or stop, not while lots of engine and wind noise.
Scenic, informative but a little dangerous.

4.00This experience was interesting and the guide is knowledgeable about the area, its history and preserve. However, be mindful that you will be inhaling some dust on the way as the portion of the route is unpaved. Also, the route can not be called safe as it goes through a narrow road next to the edge of the steep hill with barely any guard rails. Views were gorgeous but you are relying on the driver to make it back safely. I would think twice about doing this again. Everyone can use their best judgment/risk tolerance.
