Plaza Mayor
The Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, Spain is a large plaza located in the center of Salamanca, used as a public square.[1] It was built in the traditional Spanish baroque style and is a popular gathering area. It is lined by restaurants, ice cream parlors, tourist shops, jewelry stores and a pharmacy along its perimeter except in front of the city hall.
Casa de las Conchas
The Casa de las Conchas of Salamanca is an old urban palace of Gothic style and plateresque elements. Its construction began in 1493 and concluded in 1517. Inside, the patio with mixtilinear arches, the staircase and the coffered ceiling stand out.

Nice walk, but no history

3.00Our tour guide was very nice and took us on a nice walk of the city, but it didn’t feel like a professional tour… rather someone walking you around. There are many tours available in Salamanca that offer this for $30-50, but for $300 we expected a professional tour guide who could tell us about this history of the city. Our guide (once again he was very nice) mentioned he had just retired from another job 2 years ago and did this part time, but had no formal education on the city. I would have chosen one of the cheaper tours if I knew it was just going to be a walk without history. Unless you can guarantee a professional guide with this company, please avoid it. The tour was actually 2 stars, but I bumped it up to 2 because the guide was friendly.

5.00This tour easily exceeded our expectations. Neohmar was a knowledgable guide, who took us to all the main sites in Salamanca. He met us at our hotel, which made it stress-free. He was very conversational and definitely adjusted the tour based on that conversation. As I am a soccer fan, he took us to two shops where the local teams’ gear was sold. He gave us time on our own as well, just enough to make it feel like we were there with a friend and not a guide. Highly recommend this experience!

4.00Ariane was very friendly and did a good job overall. However, when Viator asks for your preferred language and I select Spanish, I expect to be paired with someone who speaks Spanish as their first language. At times, it was difficult to understand her due to her strong accent. Additionally, it would have been more enriching to have a local guide from Salamanca—someone with deeper, firsthand knowledge of the city's history and culture. Arianne has been in the city for 2 years as a student but she is not from Salamanca.
