After breakfast, enjoy a 2-hour tour of Nabatean city and UNESCO World Heritage site, with a local guide. One of the Seven Wonders of the World, Petra was carved into a sandstone gorge more than 2,000 years ago to dominate the trading routes of ancient Arabia and is rightly regarded as the jewel in the crown of Jordan’s historic sites. Walk along the narrow “Siq”, the high-walled fissure in the rocks that winds into the heart of the city. Then, stop in your tracks at your first breathtaking glimpse of the Treasury, known locally as “El-Khazneh” - Petra’s stellar sight. Wonder at its intricate façade and hear how movies such as Indiana Jones, the Transformers, and the Last Crusade were filmed here. See Petra’s ornate tombs cut into the rock face, and admire the stunning theater that once sat 3,000 spectators. As you walk, visit the Byzantine church. Free time to explore and walk up the Monastery or the High Place of Sacrifice if time permits.
Wadi Rum

After your walking tour and free time to visit The Petra Museum and for lunch at your own expense finishes, return to your vehicle. Following your time at Petra, to the spectacular desert wilderness of Wadi Rum. Sometimes known as the Valley of the Moon for its lunar-like landscapes, this protected region of mountains, dunes, and canyons was where T.E. Lawrence, known as “Lawrence of Arabia” fought alongside the Bedouin locals in World War I. The locals have named many of the sites in Wadi Rum after Lawrence and numerous scenes from the iconic movie, Lawrence of Arabia, were filmed on location here. Besides, the recent well-known movies Star Wars: The Rise of Sky Walker and The Martian, filmed by Hollywood super star Matt Damon.

Enjoy an exhilarating 2-hour trip by 4x4 local jeep through this majestic place to immerse yourself in its serene beauty and ever-changing colors. Rumble along desert valleys, through narrow gorges, past red dunes and mountains, and stop to take photos along the way. Transfer to Aqaba for dinner and check in at your hotel. 5.00My wife and I just finished our tour today and had an overall amazing experience! I booked through Viator who put me in contact with a local tour company Zaid tours. I had many questions about the trip and communicated with Zaid tours who answered my questions and were very clear about adding things to my trip such as a stay near the Dead Sea. They were very clear about communicating prices as well. My Driver was Hasan who was an amazing driver and tour guide.He sent me a message even before arriving to tell me exactly where to meet us at the airport. He was very friendly and his car is brand new, spacious, and comfortable. He suggested when we arrived from the airport to add sites to our itinerary as we had time. I truly enjoyed the conversations with Hasan whom I was very comfortable asking him any questions. He always gave me his honest answers. We spent our first night at the Dead Sea spa hotel. Swam in the Dead Sea of course which is a truly unique experience. Hasan suggested Mt Nebo and Madaba which were very Interesting places. We proceeded to Petra for our second night. Petra of course was amazing so was Wadi Rum-truly a place out of this world. We watched the sunset in Wadi Rum. We then proceeded to Aqaba where we spent the night. My recommendation if spending the last part of the trip in Aqaba and flying back from Amman, is to make sure you have at least 4-5 hours so that you can go to Berenice Beach, as the local beach Al Ghandour beach is more for locals. Also, I’d recommend sleeping in Wadi Rum. We missed this opportunity, but would like to spend the night there next time. I highly recommend visiting Jordan! It’s safe and people are laid back and friendly! I recommend Zaid tours! Highly recommend our guide and driver Hasan! Excellent! Jose

5.00We hadn’t booked our trip until we got to Amman and luckily got Hassan for a 2 night, 3 day private tour to Petra, wadi rum and Aqaba. Hassan was so knowledgeable, so lovely and just so helpful! You made our trip to Jordan so memorable! Thank you so much for sharing your stories, we really enjoyed the 3 days. We also loved all your suggestions and couldn’t recommend you enough. Jordan exceeded all our expectations; wonderful people, wonderful food and stunning sights!
