Colorado River
Experience the unique perspective of the Colorado River at the foot of the massive Hoover Dam. After descending nearly 1100 feet into Black Canyon, you'll launch onto the tranquil waters, surrounded by the towering concrete structure and the rugged canyon walls.
Hoover Dam
Gain an awe-inspiring view of the iconic Hoover Dam as seen from the Colorado River below. Marvel at the sheer scale and engineering of this monumental landmark, looking up at its impressive curved face from a rarely seen vantage point within the dramatic Black Canyon.
Gold Strike Canyon Hot Springs
First stop will be Sauna Cave, where we will explore a natural steam-bath. Then move onto Gold Strike where numerous hot springs are hidden far into the reaches of the canyon.
Arizona Hot Springs
Back at the kayaks, you'll paddle downriver toward Lone Palm Canyon, past waterfalls, and arrive at Boyscout Canyon. Explore the narrow slot canyons in search of the perfect hot spring. When you find it, you can enjoy yourself, knowing that your campsite is just downriver. A short paddle brings us to our camp for the evening, where our accommodations for the evening include a starry night sky, and the smell of a campfire. Enjoy a hearty dinner and good conversation, as the sounds of the river bubble gently in the background. After dinner, enjoy a long soak in a quiet hot spring before crawling into your warm sleeping bag for the evening.
Black Canyon City
The first day will be full of kayaking and hiking, and you will have plenty of time to roam free. The night will be spent enjoying the hot springs by moonlight, as the campfire crackles in the dark. Spend hours relaxing and soaking in the natural hot tubs. Paddle into rain caves, and take time to study ancient rock art left by the Mohave tribes who inhabited the area. Many wildlife species call Black Canyon home. You may see Desert Big Horn sheep, bald eagles, coyotes, red-tail hawks, and turkey vultures. Anglers can bring a rod & reel, and try their hand at some world-class striped bass fishing.

Arizona Hot Springs
Wake up to the smells of hot coffee, and the sounds of birds chirping. Enjoy a healthy breakfast as the sun slowly rises on the steep canyon walls. Morning hiking is optional for those wanting to explore, or you can savor the serenity of the quiet morning while soaking in the hot springs. Today is filled with kayaking, and as soon as camp is packed up, you'll continue downriver.
As we travel down river, Weeping Springs Cove appears, along with a gravity fault, and your guide will explain the historical features of the canyons as you paddle along. Keep your eyes open for Desert Bighorn sheep; you are likely to see a few perched high on the cliffs. Peregrine falcons, eagles, coyotes, foxes, and lizards can also be spotted. As you approach the historic cableways and catwalk, you will learn about the gauging station and the purpose it served. Kayak into Emerald Cave for a fantastic photo of the shimmering green waters. Take a short break on Emerald Cove and go for a refreshing swim before having lunch on the beach.
Willow Beach Marina
Kayak toward the historic homesite, where you can explore the trail to the ruins if time allows. Fantastic views await at the top, so remember to bring your camera! Just a short paddle downriver past the fish hatchery is your final destination, at the Willow Beach marina.

4.00we did self guided 2 day trip, rented canoes from this company. Receptionist that booked us was great, clear instructions, answered all questions. She also recommended the canoes instead of kayaks and I really liked them. Guy that drove us to the launch site was super cool, talked about the dam and gave us some history about the area, almost like a tour, on the drive. You could tell he was into it.
Anything that Desert Adventures touched, SUCKED!!!

1.00Camping on the Colorado River was amazing! BUT... Desert Adventures was an absolute joke! Days prior to our departure my questions were met with sarcastic and rude responses over the phone. Rental items were not correct when I called back to confirm prior to departure and were apparently corrected UNTIL we arrived at the pick-up location and they were missing items desired and had items that I did not ask to rent (Even after the call to confirm the day prior). Due to the government shutdown, we were told that emergency response would not be available if something happened and to be prepared with a Plan B. The "Emergency" paperwork that was provided via email link with our trip details was filled out and met with, "Where did you get that?" from the driver and then he said, "I don't need that!" Pick-up times were stressed to the point of threats with fees ($150/PP) if late and they would not wait but return multiple hours later if late. We arrived earlier than our pick-up time of 3:30pm and didn't depart Willow Beach Marina until 4:45pm AFTER ASSISTING THE ONE AND ONLY DRIVER LOAD ALL CANOES AND KAYAKS. We watched as other kayak tour companies efficiently cleaned, loaded and guided their customers accordingly with multiple tour company reps assisting. Desert Adventures sent one (1) guy (5'4"/150lbs) by himself to load all canoes/kayaks!! Additional Desert Adventures van arrived, loaded their canoes/kayaks and left without the customers they brought which led to the illegal and careless act of stuffing eighteen (18) people in a twelve (12) person van!!! Yes eighteen (18) people in a van with only twelve (12) seatbelts. Six customers had people on their laps that they have never met. THIS PLACE IS A JOKE AND DANGEROUS!!! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE, THERE ARE BETTER COMPANIES OUT THERE!!!!

5.00The 2 day trip through the Black Canyon was just right. We had a relaxing pace exploring the Black canyon and were able to enjoy two of the hot springs. What a beautiful place. Desert Adventures provides an excellent experience - safety conscious, great communication, awesome food, and a fun and knowledgeable guide. Thanks you Desert Adventurers

5.00We had an awesome experience. Adam was our guide/shuttle driver and it was everything we had hoped for. So scenic, and peaceful. The hot springs all the way through were a treat. On our way out we saw some Desert Big Horn Sheep next to the water. Having the extra day to enjoy the canyon and paddling was just right. I've used Desert Adventures six different times, and they are always so helpful. Great staff.

5.00One word "WOW". I have a reasonable amount of experience with 30+ years exploring around the US and abroad. I did not expect a Chef hidden inside the knowledgeable and easy going guide. Gabriel (Gabe) exceeded my exceptions. Memories for every now. I recommended Gabe if you want a "me different" experience with great food when you need the most. Moreover, I can't think of anything he forgot to bring + spare. THANK YOU!

5.00Amazing! Everything about this trip exceeded our expectations! Luke Murray was our guide - he is awesome! From his knowledge of the area, his humor and witty story telling and exceptional planning and cooking skills…we each felt very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this trip! The kayaks were quality boats, in good working order and stable for the novice and experienced kayakers. For our camping equipment…we each had a small air mattress and pillows to rest on at night, our tents were easy to assemble, we had chairs to sit on! Plenty of water, fresh fruit, and yummy meal choices. He made Chicken Fried Rice for dinner - DELICIOUS!! We went on lots of hikes, soaked in hot springs, swam in the 54 degree lake, had many photo options! I highly recommend this adventure! Especially with Luke - it is worth EVERY PENNY!! Thank you for an awesome experience!!
