Italian Chapel – We reserve tickets for you. If you want to visit this attraction, please purchase your ticket whilst on tour.

Luggage Allowance: You're restricted to 14kg (31lbs) of luggage per person on our tours. This should be one piece of luggage similar to an airline carry-on bag (approximately 55cm x 45cm x 25cm / 22in x 17in x 10in) plus a small bag for onboard personal items.

We apologise, but we cannot accommodate children under 5 years old on our tours. Please note that if this policy is not followed, we will have to refuse travel without issuing a refund. Thank you for understanding.

Long before Stonehenge or even the Egyptian pyramids were built, Skara Brae was a thriving village. Step back 5,000 years in time to explore the best-preserved Neolithic settlement in Western Europe.

Ring of Brodgar

One of the finest stone circles in the world. Dating back from 2,500 to 2,000 BC, the stone ring was built in a true circle, 104 metres wide and originally contained sixty megaliths; today only twenty-seven of these stones remain.

Standing Stones of Stenness

Step back in time over 5000 years at what may be the earliest henge monument in the British Isles. The enormous Stones of Stenness are all that remains of a great stone circle on an ancient ceremonial site.

Maeshowe Chambered Cairn

The monumental chambered tomb of Maeshowe is simply the finest Neolithic building in NW Europe. Built around 5,000 years ago, it is a masterpiece of Neolithic design and stonework construction, not least for its use of massive individual stones. Viking crusaders broke into the cairn in the 12th century and carved graffiti runes on the walls of the main chamber. Maeshowe is part of the Heart of Neolithic Orkney World Heritage Site, along with Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar and the Stones of Stenness.

Kirkwall - Caithness and Sutherland - Inverness

Kirkwall

Free time in Kirkwall town centre - visitors can wander around the town, visits local shops or St. Magnus Cathedral.

Caithness and Sutherland

Take a ferry back to the mainland, travel through the history-soaked regions of Caithness and Sutherland. You’ll find out about the Highland clearances, a world-changing period in Scotland’s dark history, and get a glimpse of some of Scotland’s most remote fishing villages. We arrive back in Inverness early evening.

It was a fabulous tour. We saw everything we were supposed to see and then some thanks to our wonderful guide Shauna. She was a fabulous driver and tour guide. We were never rushed. If you get her you are lucky and will have a great time. Orkney is a magical place and Shauna knew where to find all the hidden gems. You need to pay her more. Thank you not for a great trip but for a fantastic memory.

The weather was not so nice to us as it drizzled every day, but it didn't stop us from seeing all the sights which is a must, We had a 5 hour delay at the ferry because of the wind, but our excellent driver/guide took us to some other attractions on the mainland.

We enjoyed the trip-Scotland is of course gorgeous .The arrangements were great. Helen at the wheel who drove very well and was a great guide, informative and humorous, made the whole experience even more memorable. Shall certainly spread the word.

The three-day tour could not have been better. James, our driver/leader was informative, considerate, well-organized, and fun! We saw all of the sites we had on our wish list and many other things of interest.

This was the absolute highlight of my trip to Scotland. We had the BEST time with Harrison, our guide! We were incredibly lucky with the weather and experienced sunny, warm days. Harrison’s laidback nature and humor was a great way to get into the trip & we appreciated all of his under the radar spots that we definitely would not have known to stop at if not for him. For example, we never would have stopped at Dunrobin Castle or the Clearance Memorial if not for him! The second day of the tour was the best. We loved all the historic Neolithic spots, especially Skara Brae (of course). Lastly, Harrison was very receptive to stop requests from tour-goers, including adding a stop for me to swim & to walk along the cliffs at Yesnaby. This was such a special treat & a testament to how great a guide he is. The cherry on top was stopping at the Lybster Harbor & Harrison playing his guitar for us. Truly an unforgettable trip that I will look back on fondly.

The restaurants in Kirkwall close very early making it impossible to get a reservation the same day as the tours end after that. Even next day reservation was not attainable. The bar menu offered at Orkney Hotel was below reasonable culinaric standards and shopping for dinner was performed in Lidl. Apart from that, the visits at SkaraBrae and Ring of Brodtgar were satisfactory up to expectations. The driver, Liam, was exceptional knowledgable and kind.
Wonderful Orkney Tour exceeded our expectations.

Wonderful tour led by our extremely competent driver and tour guide Amy. Amy was patient and considerate with our group of 14 allowing adequate time to visit attractions and permitting comfort stops frequently. We had elected to book our own accommodation and stayed at the Orkney Hotel in Kirkwall which was only a short walk from the Cathedral and close to restaurants and bars if you chose to dine or drink elsewhere. The hotel had great food and a wonderful bar with a selection of over 1000 Scotch whiskies. The scenery and attractions on the islands are wonderful and this was just what we were looking for.

The trip was a marvel from beginning to end. It wasn't just the island experience the trip north and the trip south were full of surprises and wonders. The experience of the ancient sites and the history of World War II is what drew us to the trip, and it did not disappoint. The stories along the way were riveting and brought history to life. Definitely worth the time and effort to participate in such a wonderful tour.

The best tour of the trip. Our guide Amy was wonderful. We were a group of friends, laughing along to her stories and information before we even got to the Highlands. We had all the expected stops and extra adventures as well. Our return ferry was cancelled, instead of being a problem Amy turned it into an opportunity to seem more of the island and try out a different coffee shop ( all this while she was liaising with the office to get us onto another ferry). We got back onto the mainland and a series of coaches with much laughter and communal singing all the way back to Inverness.

We enjoyed the tour to Orkney very much. The sites on Orkney are amazing! Our guide, Amy, was fantastic! She was well-organized, very knowledgeable, personable & friendly. She made it a terrific trip! The only suggestion I have is that Rabbies should not use The Orkney Hotel. We paid extra for a hotel, but this hotel which we were assigned to was not worth it. While the food at the Orkney Hotel was good, the hotel and rooms are extremely out-dated.
