Bale Mountains National Park is suitably a walking, trekking and hiking area for hikers, culture and nature enthusiasts, wildlife watchers, researchers and more. The park is known for being home to the Ethiopian wolf, mountain nyala, giant molerat and Bale monkey. UNESCO has estimated that more mammal species would become extinct were the habitats of the Bale Mountains to decline than if any other area of equivalent size on the globe were to disappear and, when this is combined with rare amphibian species, endemic birds and spectacular flora, it is easy to see why the park is designated as a Biodiversity Hotspot by Conservation International.

Bale Mountains National Park
Catch a flight at 11.45 with ET 175.Upon arrival, we will do all the requirements for short easy hike at the Bale mountains national park, Headquarter along the woodland part to see antelope families. Later late in the afternoon drive to Goba 45km from Dinsho for overnight stay. In the evening you will have dinner and stay the night at the hotel.

Bale Mountains National Park
In the morning, you will have breakfast and drive to the sanetti plateau (altitude of the 4000metre the largest afro-alpine area in Africa and the place to see rare and endangered Ethiopian Wolf) and the scenery then proceed to Harenna forest via Tullu Deemtu (4377m) the second-highest point in Ethiopia.
Drive to Addis Ababa via Asella for departure

5.00We traveled to the Bale Mountains and it was wonderful. We take as flight to there and there was a driver and a guide waiting us at the Goba airport holding our name and they picked up us and we directly started the tour and after that they took us to our hotel which is they arranged earlier. It really was as very nice trip we had thanks to the travel team at ETT.

5.00The trip was nicely organized and paced, everyone was nice and we were picked up at the airport and hotels on time. The driver and the tour guides were also so nice people they made the trip really enjoyable they have so much knowledge about every place we have visited.

I've done some extensive traveling over the years and the travel designer at this tour company made my our trip everything we could have imagined and more.

4.00The Bale Mountains National Park is nothing but breathtaking – so it’s even worth a trip if you have the worst guide ever. Don’t read reviews – just go there! That said, the agency asked me to write review, so I have to say that during this tour I had one of the best and one of the worst guide I ever had. During your stay in the Bale Mountains, there will be a driver, a general guide and a naturalist guide responsible for you. The naturalist guide was incredible. He knew so much and could explain it in English, he was friendly and he always thought about how to make MY experience better. The other guide was apparently responsible for organizing everything which is kind of funny since he spoke like 50 words in English. He was always late, misinformed me a lot and wasn’t helpful at all. But the worst was that he seemed as if he was just interested in his own fun. While walking through the mountains, he mostly made selfies (and didn’t care if he destroyed my own pictures in the process), was really loud and far too close to the animals (and drove them away in the process) and was rude to me. Nevertheless, that shouldn’t keep you from going there. Just focus on the lovely naturalist guide and act as if the other one was just another (rude) tourist.
