Begin an unforgettable trip through almost 7,500 square miles (12,000 km²) of fantastic landscapes of salt and surrealist landscapes of deserts and colored lagoons of the Eduardo Avaroa Reserve. The dazzling white mantle of the Salar de Uyuni resembles an immense glacier. In winter (dry season from May to October), when the surface hardens, geometric figures formed by the salt particles agglomerated into polygons appear. In summer (rainy season from November to March) the salt desert is transformed into a giant mirror that blends into the sky of the purest blue you've ever seen before.

Day 1: (L, D) Our adventure begins visiting an outdoor museum of ancient and impressive field trains in Uyuni.

Salar de Uyuni
Step visit with photo stops. Enter the Salar by Colchani where we will see the salt processing and piles of salt, visit the hotel salt, eyes water and continue downtown to visit the Incahuasi Island of volcanic rock and giant cactus and a top that climb it becomes extraordinary viewpoint of the white salt plain.

Tunupa Volcano
Step visit with photo stops. Then we'll go north, a distance of several kilometers to the Thunupa volcano, whose slopes accede to visit the Pucara of Ayque (pre-Columbian ruins), with great views, Coquesa Mummies and the Mirador de Thunupa, which ascend in car to near its crater for a breathtaking view of the Salar, in all its glory.
Tahua
Stop and overnight in Salt Hotel. Overnight at the Hotel Tayka de Sal, which are ecological model and hotels with private bathroom, heating and excellent service. The hotel Tayka de Sal is located at the foot of the majestic volcano Tunupa.

Day 2 (B, L, D) In the morning we go to the island fish and then continue to the Mala Mala Bay, at the opposite end of the Salar to head to Galaxy Cave, an extraordinary place where we can appreciate ancestral burials and petrified cactus.
Step visit with photo stops. We arrived to Tayka Red Stone Hotel located in San Pedro de Quemes, where we will enjoy a unique dining experience with the flavors of regional food.

Laguna Hedionda
Step visit with photo stops. To the south are Cañapa gaps, Stinking, Chiarkota, Honda and Ramadita, where large numbers of flamingos can be founded. Other birds, such as geese and Andean gulls accompany the flamingos in these lagoons flanked by snow-capped volcanoes that have a green skirt down (brava straw yareta and thola).
Siloli Desert
We enter to the deserter sand and pebbles where the landscapes painted very beautiful shades in order to reach the hotel Overnight at a stone hotel located in the middle of the Siloli desert, HOTEL TAYKA DEL DESIERTO a cozy hotel equipped with a private bathroom, hot water, and you can enjoy an exquisite dinner with views of the universe.

Day 3: (B, L) At dawn we will go in search of known geysers Sol de Mañana. They arrive at the first rays of light. This is the highest point of the route, about 5000 m. The cold is intense. You will see pools where the land seems to boil red, gray and scarlet mud can be traversed by us in their own shores. The desert and Salar de Chalviri is another scene of great landscape value that combines the white snow, ocher desert, the blue water and white of borax. In one corner we can take a bath in Termas de Polques and enjoy a hearty breakfast outdoors.
Laguna Colorada
Step visit with photo stops. we stop for lunch at Laguna Colorada, main nesting center of the three species of flamingos and whose algae and plankton activated by solar radiation and wind give both pink lagoon as part of the legs and plumage these exotic birds.
Geiser Sol de la Manana

Aguas Termales De Polques

Salvador Dali Desert
Step visit with photo stops.
Laguna Verde
Step visit with photo stops. And almost as an excess and to leave this desert valley, we will visit Laguna Verde, at the foot of the volcano Licancabur. We arrive at this lagoon just on time to see how the water go from emerald green to a duller.

5.00I recently booked a 3N/2D private tour with Joker. Everything was taken care of from start to finish. Our English-speaking guide Oscar was very knowledgeable and was able to speak about everything from Bolivia's history to its flora and fauna. Joker was also able to secure me a room in the Tayka El Desierto (a must for anyone considering a trip into the national park). Finally, Jose was able to answer all questions that I had beforehand over email. Would highly recommend!

5.00Jose was organised & responsive when we made our booking about 2 weeks before arriving in Uyuni. We had booked the sunset & stargazing private tour and the Uyuni Salt Flats & Lagoons 3 day tour. Both tours were well run and the tour guide and driver were very accomodating, helping us take some beautiful photos and providing options for us when they could. For example, it is the dry season in Uyuni and we were given the option to see reflection for the sunset & stargazing tour so we could experience sunset reflection one evening and on our first day in the 3 days private tour, we also experienced the dry season sunset. We loved the flexibility given by the tour guide & driver, so we had more photo time, skipping point of interest we were not keen to sightsee. Really appreciate the knowledgeable guide, providing great explanation & timing our visits to points of interest with minimal visitors around us & friendly driver and the Joker Expedition end to end organisation behind the scene, especially when I left my drone in the 4WD after the sunset & stargazing private tour and Jose was very responsive after hours to arrange for my drone to be returned the next day. Thank you for making these tours so memorable for us.

5.00Everything was very well organized. Julia our english spoken guide and Raoul our driver handled everything in perfect way. Me and my wife, we keep very good memories of them. The 2 two salt hotels Tayka de Sal and Tayka El Desierto were pleasant surprises with their style and top quality restaurants. The scenery was unfogeftable.

5.00José and his staff were great from the first pick-up at the Uyuni airport to the last drop-off in La Paz. We spend 3 amazing days with the guide Roger (very easygoing, very knowleadgeable and very good English) and a super professional driver exploring the Salar, the lagunas, the volcan belt and the desert near Chile avoiding the crowds and having the chance to really find a connection with the amazing nature, flora and fauna. I'm vegetarian and every meal was especially prepared with care and taste! The Laguna Salada hotel is amazing and I will cherish forever the aperitivo with a great wine at sunset on the Salar with music played live by Roger.
A wonderful experience. We made the trip in a group of friends in two vehicles with Javier and Abel super helpful

5.00I am very grateful to José, from Joker Expeditions, who organized a wonderful tour at Salar de Uyuni and Altiplano Boliviano, we arrived early in Uyuni, offered us breakfast and bath in a very beautiful hotel in Uyuni. We were in seven friends, we took a private tour with two excellent cars and drivers, Javier and Abel, who unfolded to please us, explained everything and above all were great photographers. The delicious meals, I highly recommend, was the highlight of our trip Thank you very much

5.00We had a very good time on the 3 Days private tour including Uyuni salt flat and colored lagoons. The tour was very well organized by Jose and he took great care of us while on the 3-day tour, as well as during our time in La Paz. He arranged for an airport pickup in La Paz and a guided tour of the city. The advance communication was clear, prompt, and very helpful. The tour itself was well tailored to our needs and flexible. We were able to make adjustment to the itinerary as we went along considering our specific interests, time, and distances between places. Our English-speaking guide, Oscar, and our driver, Ronal, were very helpful, knowledgeable, reliable, and very pleasant and fun to communicate with. Thank you guys for great Bolivia experience!

5.00We did a private tour with English guide from Uyuni for 5. It was a wonderful experience. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, which made the trip even more incredible. A trip to the Salar de Uyuni for the rainy season (early January) has been an unreal experience. The feeling in this huge salt desert, which becomes a mirror due to the water, you simply have to experience it yourself. The tour operator has put in an incredible amount of effort. Snacks and drinks were provided. For Breakfast, lunch and dinner was provided at all times. Breakfast on the 3rd. Day could have been a little more in my understanding, but that is complaining at a high level. Our guide, Elsa, put in an incredible amount of effort. She inspired me a lot of background knowledge. She also captured the experiences with a good eye for detail. Our driver Rodrigo was also great. He was driving carefully and prudently. I still felt safe at all times.

5.00There is no other place on earth quite as wonderful and exquisite as the Salar de Uyuni Bolivia. In fact We were in-love with La Paz Bolivia. It’s a perfect combination of modern with a twist of traditional. There is no place like Salar de Uyuni (salt flats) they’re the biggest on earth, and you can tell easily tell the difference the moment you arrive here compare to other salt flats. I believe that one should make an effort to come here and experience What Bolivia has to offer.

5.00TOP! My wife and I were undecided if we should take several day tours in Uyuni or if we should go for the 2 or 3 day tour. We're thrilled we opted for this 3 day Salar de Uyuni and Laguna de Colores Tour! The Salar is amazing but the other sights you get to see in this tour are also breathtaking. Our guide Macedonio was great, the Tayka hotels are really comfy considering the fact we were in the middle of nowhere this is by far your best option. Definitely, go for this private tour instead than a shared one, you won't regret it!
