First Viator is only the company gets the money for dealing the trip. That was not clarified before. I booked the best standard and neither the accomodations nor the food nor the Jeep nor the guide were more than the low standard. It was okay, we had as group a good time but it was to expensive comparing it to other guided tours. So I would never again going to Viator booking something.

We did the 3-day Uyuni tour and overall the experience was nice, but we definitely expected something more premium based on the reviews and photos shared by other travellers. The tour operator showed pictures of better accommodation and a more comfortable setup — but in reality, we were grouped together with travellers from multiple other tour companies and placed in very basic accommodation that looked nothing like what was advertised. It became pretty clear that there’s no real difference between the tour companies. They simply combine everyone into the same jeeps and the same hostels once you arrive. If you’re considering it, I honestly recommend booking on arrival and directly asking for a private room — that’s the best option you’ll get, and it’s much cheaper than booking online in advance. We left feeling a bit scammed by the mismatch between what was promised and what we actually received. Also, if you’ve already been to Peru and visited places like the Altiplano, the 3-day itinerary might feel repetitive. The lagoons and desert parts involve many hours of driving, and the accommodation (often without electricity) didn’t make it worthwhile for us. In that case, I’d recommend doing just the 1-day salt flats tour, which is the real highlight and absolutely stunning. The landscape is incredible, but manage your expectations — this is a very basic tour, regardless of which operator you book with.

The trip was amazing. Special thanks to our guide Julia and the drivers! They made it super comfortable, interesting and accommodating. Highest class lunches organized along the way with delicious local food. Scenery is none to anything else and I would definitely recommend it everyone.

We had a great guide Oscar, who helped us navigate the Bolivian border and then showed us the many lagoons in the Bolivian desert. We learned more about flamingos then ever before Accommodation the 1st night was difficult because of the altitude and temperature was extremely cold.oscar did a great job getting us oxygenfor the person who really needed. The highlight was the day in the Salt Flats. We liked the desert part but due to altitude issues didn't appreciate it as much as our day on the Salt Flats. We had a great picnic...good food in the middle of the flats. Our second night out the Accommodation was beautiful . Joker Expedition helped us get bus tickets to La Paz and also arranged for us to have extra oxygen on our bus

Still not over the incredible three-day trip with Oscar as our guide and Samuel as our driver. We were immersed in breathtaking nature for three full days — from vast salt flats and colorful lagoons to geysers, desert landscapes, and starry skies. Oscar is a fountain of knowledge — about the country, its history, and its unique wildlife and plants. Samuel got us safely from A to B — even when there were no roads for the last two days, just endless sand. I travel a lot, but this one made my top three… if you can, try to get Oscar as your guide!

Just wrapped up the 3-day private Uyuni tour with Joker Expedition and honestly, it blew us away. I don’t usually write reviews, but this one deserves it. Everything ran like clockwork from the second we landed. Our guide Alfredo was incredibly knowledgeable—not in a tour-guide-scripted way, but genuinely passionate about the landscapes, history, and culture. Our driver Samuel was a total pro too, navigating some crazy terrain without breaking a sweat. We always felt safe and well looked after. The route was incredible—salt flats, flamingos, volcanoes, geysers, all of it. What made it next-level was how Joker handled the logistics. Beautiful private lunch in the middle of the salt flats, sunset wine, great food the whole way, and really nice hotels. Every part of it felt considered. But here’s where they really went above and beyond: we ran into some border-crossing issues (our mistake), and they completely reorganized our schedule, transport, food, and even helped rebook flights—without charging anything extra. They had every reason to say “good luck” but instead took care of it all, no questions asked. If you don’t speak Spanish, that kind of backup is worth everything. We met other travelers who did cheaper shared tours and heard some horror stories—missed pickups, bad food, rough accommodations. Ours was the complete opposite. Yes, it’s more expensive than the group tours—but if you want peace of mind, comfort, and a trip that actually feels like a vacation, Joker is 100% worth it. Would book with them again in a heartbeat.

The Absolute Best Uyuni Tour – Worth Every Penny We just finished the 3-day private Uyuni Salt Flats and Colored Lagoons tour with Joker Expedition, and it was honestly the best travel experience we’ve ever had. From start to finish, everything was seamless and thoughtfully executed. Our guide Alfredo was incredibly knowledgeable—he has a university background and gave us deep insights into the landscapes, wildlife, Bolivian history, and culture. He also had great medical knowledge and helped with my minor altitude sickness with professionalism and care - including using the well stocked medical kit, including an oxygen tank. Our driver Samuel navigated some seriously difficult terrain with total calm and skill. We always felt safe, comfortable, and well cared for. The itinerary was amazing—sunrise geysers, flamingo-filled lagoons, volcanoes, and of course the magical salt flats. The food was delicious, the car new, spacious and very clean, the accommodation luxurious, and everything ran exactly on time. We were treated to a private salt flat lunch, sunset with local wine, and stunning views every step of the way. Joker even helped us customize the itinerary so we could be dropped at the Chilean border and transferred to Calama Airport. When we ran into an issue crossing the border (our fault), they didn’t miss a beat—reorganizing our accommodation, transport, meals, and even booking our onward flights to La Paz when we had technical issues. And they did all of this at no extra charge. As non-Spanish speakers, this support was invaluable. We met other travelers who did cheaper shared tours and had rough experiences—poor food, cramped schedules, and missed transfers. Ours couldn’t have been more different. Yes, it’s a bit pricier—but it’s 100% worth it for the quality, comfort, safety, and peace of mind you get with Joker, including the professional support, before, during and after your tour. Can’t recommend this company enough. Book with Joker—you won’t regret it!

Joker tours was amazing! With so many options for providers we had lots of questions. They answered them all timely and with patience. Our guide, Oscar was so knowledgeable and kept us informed of what was coming up along the way. He was also a great photographer at the salt flats. Our driver, Dionicio, was extremely safe and patient as well. We had a fantastic trip seeing all of the highlights. Our only regret was that we could have used a fourth day to explore some of the sights a little longer. Bolivian landscape is stunning! We would 100% recommend Joker to anyone. We did the superior category. Accommodation was amazing with heat and hot water. Food was catered by Joker, tasty and plentiful!
