Stand tall at the edge of the world, paddle an infamous Canadian lake, be one with nature. Loaded with classic routes and itineraries, you’ll love what Lake Fever has to offer on this 4 day romp across 3 prime wooded destinations: Algonquin, Killbear, and Killarney Provincial Parks. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a call to Lake Fever.
No guest preparation is needed, no equipment, not even a sleeping bag/pad. Lake Fever offers budget travelers free transportation, camp-cooked meals, and good old fashioned campfires, but *please be advised, on this particular tour guests will be expected to share in cooking/dishes duties at least once.* Sightseers can enjoy access to the Canadian wilderness for a unique opportunity that would otherwise take a lot of planning and money to arrange (not to worry, first-timers will learn the basics of camping).

Huntsville
Lunch stop at a lakeside restaurant in cottage country. On a hot day, Huntsville's marina patios are the place to be. If there's time, guests can explore the quaint little shops of this beautiful small town or hop in the lake. Huntsville hosts many summer festivals, so if something exciting is happening, we'll be sure to take a peek before heading out. *Lunch not included*
Algonquin Provincial Park
With 7,653 square kilometres of space, world famous Algonquin Provincial Park is larger than some countries! Perhaps that's why it's one of the best places in North America for moose spotting. Upon arriving at camp, the group is introduced to their home with a short tent setup demo, after which there's plenty of time to enjoy the sun & the crisp, refreshing water. We recommend a game of beach bocce ball with our regulation set. As a special treat, your chef (& guide) will have dinner prepared on your return. We end the night chatting around a group campfire, where we'll teach first-timers how to make world famous S'mores!

Beaver Pond Trail
Begin the day with a big continental breakfast, morning coffee, and one of Algonquin's most stunningly beautiful hikes. Beaver Pond Trail is a 45 minute 2.0 km loop trail that visits a huge real life beaver pond, and a spectacular lookout. The radiant greens and yellows in this serene woodland habitat are very unexpected!
Guests will have the opportunity to paddle the glistening waters of Canoe Lake, captured in the famous paintings of Tom Thomson. There's nothing more peaceful than being out on the water in a canoe. Out there, you can only hear the birds calling, and the splash of your paddle hitting the water.
Killbear Provincial Park
The group arrives in time to throw together a delicious dinner, followed by another romp around the campfire. Be prepared for a late 8pm meal and a beautiful sunset.

Set up camp in 645 sq. km of pure wilderness, then make it a beach day at George Lake before supper and bed.

The Crack
This challenging hike in Killarney is perfect for wildlife spotting and peace of mind. Get your cameras out at the top of the mountain, as the picturesque view of the entire skyline will be something you'll never want to forget (Note that this hike may be substituted with another similar hike)

5.00My 11-year-old son & I did the "Moose on the Loose" trip in late July and it was a brilliant trip; a good mix of hiking, activities and relaxation. This was part of a longer trip around Canada and it was so nice not to have to think about what to do, where to stay and how to get there for a few days…as it’s all taken care of! The best thing about the trip was Damian – our tour guide. His approach was friendly, informative and laid-back. He was particularly great with my son; answering all his questions and chatting to him when he sat up front in the bus. Amazing time and highly recommended

5.00For a family that never camped before, that was a true adventure. Our guide was amazing. The well-planned trip gave us the opportunity to explore breath-taking destinations, experience a true thunderstorm, sleep in tents for the first time and really bond as a family. Our guide supported us all the way and was keen to make the hick in difficult terrains that we have never experienced before as easy as possible for me and my husband. He was well prepared and maintained an eco-friendly trip with proper recycling. He was also aware of all the needed practices during Covid times. The group was so friendly with an easy-going attitude that made our time together a true blessing.

5.00Lake Fever (Damian) runs a great show! All you need to do is show up and he takes care of everything - transport, accommodation, food, hikes, canoe reservation. For someone who loves the outdoors and camping but don’t have any of the equipment, can’t recommend Moose on the Loose tour highly enough!!

5.00We were so impressed with Lake Fever Wilderness Co. after our 3 day camping trip to Algonquin (Blue Heaven) that my wife and I booked a second camping trip with them. This time around we did "Moose on the Loose" This 4 days 3 night camping took us to three different locations. Algonquin, Six Mile Lake and the Bruce Peninsula National Park. What a great camping experience. Every detail was taken care off by our great guide Damian. Food, Tents, walking trails, canoes, glass boat ride in Tobermory, etc. If you like the outdoors this is definitely the way to experience camping in a very civilized way. We will be back !!
