This tour highlights some of the best spots in the Sacred Valley before taking the train to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night and take you on a private sunrise tour of Machu Picchu the next day. There is an option to add additional days to visit a local farm and other amazing sites in the Sacred Valley as well as doing a city tour of Cusco.
No trip to Cusco and the Sacred Valley is complete without a visit to Machu Picchu and we will make sure that your journey is unique, memorable, and perfect. Your guide will stay with your for the entire tour providing you with a wealth of information and history about this incredible site. We will book your hotel in the Sacred Valley because the altitude here is lower than in Cusco and you will have an easier time acclimating and can better enjoy your time at Machu Picchu.

Day 1 of the Tour

Chinchero
You will be picked up at 8:00 by private driver at your hotel in the morning. From Cusco or the Sacred Valley, there is a 45-minute drive through beautiful mountains and farmlands to the town of Chinchero in order to visit the women's weaving cooperative where we will watch a demonstration of local weavers who are using Inca techniques for dyeing fabric and for weaving traditional patterns.
Maras
Then we will visit Maras, a collection of salt mines that have been used since pre-Inca times to evaporate salt from an underground stream followed by a visit to Moray where will look down below to contemplate the concentric circles that made up an Incan agricultural laboratory. Lunch in Urubamba before taking late afternoon trail to Aguas Calientes.
Day of the Tour in Machu Picchu

Today we will have a very early start (5 am) so that we can arrive at Machu Picchu in time for the majestic sunrise--a once in a lifetime opportunity. In depth guided tour of the site for 2 hours with option to hike to Inti Punku or the Sun gate. Late afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo where we will transfer you to your peaceful 3 star hotel.
Day 3 of the Tour

After breakfast at your hotel, you will have an in depth tour of the Inca ruins at Ollantaytambo, which was the lodging of the Inca emperor Pachacutec and later served as a military checkpoint for the Incas trying to protect the roads to Machu Picchu from the invading Spaniards. We will then drive 20 minutes to the town of Yanahuara where we will visit to a farm in the sacred valley, where we will tour the farm lands, cut alfafa to feed the guinea pigs, and see first hand how chicha is made. Then we will drive one hour to the majestic ruins at Pisac where we will visit terraced Inca ruins that are situated high on a mountain followed by a visit to local handicraft market at Pisac. Private transfer to your hotel with accommodations at Tierra viva or similar caliber hotel (3 star)
Day 4 of the Tour
Plaza de Armas Cuzco
Pick up at your hotel. Private tour of Cusco including local market tour, main square, main cathedral, Coricancha (temple of the sun), After lunch, we will drive 30 minutes to Tambomachay which was the Inca temple of the water, and then visit Pukapucara which was a ceremonial place of the Incas. Then we will visit the the Unesco world heritage site of Sacsayhuaman. We will accompany you to your hotel at the end of the tour.

5.00My wife and I visited Peru with a group of friends and felt incredibly fortunate to have Valentin, Kenny and their team guide us on our various tours during our stay. It was a pleasure to know that all of the logistics and other details had been expertly handled allowing us to fully enjoy each experience. We learned a great deal from Valentin and Kenny about Peruvian culture, people, history and detailed information about each location we toured. Most important of all, they are exceptional human beings who are kind, honest, friendly and a pleasure to be with. I highly recommend them!

5.00Valentín and his family and colleagues led us through 4.5 days of hiking the Inca trail, cultural experiences, and many other active historical sites in the Sacred Valley. They customized the pace and experiences to meet our needs and wishes. They were incredible and we highly recommend Valentin and Pachamama Journeys!

5.00Valentín and his family and friends did a wonderful job of hosting us in the sacred valley. We learned so much, hiked some amazing trails to once in a lifetime destinations, and had a wonderful time. They spoke perfect English and gave us a truly local perspective of this beautiful part of Peru. They were always punctual and kind, encouraging when the hiking got harder, and just super at storytelling about the history of Incas and life in modern Peru.

5.00Valentin and his team went above and beyond at every period of our trip, from early stages of planning and customization months prior, to the days leading up to arrival, to the multi-day guided tours themselves. Throughout the experience, the team exhibited the utmost care, attention, and expertise. This culminated in an adventure throughout the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu that I cannot recommend highly enough. Our guides and driver gave us once-in-a-lifetime experiences, many of which I never would have had without their deep local knowledge. If I were to return to Cusco and the Sacred Valley again, I would not hesitate to book more time with Valentin's Pachamama Journeys.

5.00Valentine curated an excellent tour for my family. We were met at the airport in Cusco and taken care of for the next 5 days when we were taken back to the airport after an unforgettable experience. We were a a party of twelve ranging in age from 7 to 78. Valentine was able to accommodate the needs of the whole party. While most went on the one day hike to Machu Picchu (highly recommended) the rest went by train. As a guide you cannot do better than Valentine and his son Kenny. He has a long history starting as a porter in his teens and leading up to having his own company. He is passionate and knowledgeable about his incredible country and its history. I could not recommend Valentine’s Pachamama Tour more. I will be back next year for the four day inca trail hike to Machu Picchu.
We wholeheartedly recommend this agency.

5.00Our experience with the agency was truly exceptional — a definite top 5 in all our travels. The four days we spent on tour were unforgettable. Valentin gave us a deep and insightful view into Peruvian culture, history, and the breathtaking sites in and around Cusco. He was always punctual, and the quality of his service was impeccable. Everyone who worked alongside him — the drivers, the chefs — was also wonderful. Valentin was consistently attentive to our well-being, especially considering the effects of the altitude, and to all our needs. It genuinely felt like spending four days with another member of the family. What impressed us the most was the agency’s social commitment to the local communities around Cusco. 5.00Our time in Peru wouldn’t have been the same without Valentín. He guided us through the last part of the Inca Trail, Machu Picchu, the Sacred Valley, and Cusco — and made everything feel easy, safe, and meaningful. What stood out most was his deep knowledge, warm energy, and genuine care. He was reliable, relatable, and always made us feel well taken care of. We never had to worry about logistics — from pick-ups to tickets, his coordination (with help from his kind son Kenny, our driver) gave us peace of mind and space to truly enjoy the experience. Choosing a private tour with Valentín was one of the best decisions we made. It allowed us to travel with comfort and intention. Highly recommended!

5.00It was my wished over a decade ago of seeing Machu Picchu. In fact, that wished just happened and it was amazing, and I travelled to see Machu Picchu with Nedz. Valentin's Pachamama Journeys is the BEST tour guide and I highly RECOMMEND! Nedz and I, we feel safe, relax, had so much fun and WE feel at HOME in a foreign land. Valentin is the BEST tourist guide out there! We survived the Inca Trail trek with his guidance and the journey was fun and full of adventures. He is very patient, professional, attentive, informative, friendly and wonderful person. His crews who work with him such as: Kenney, Roger "Royer" and Ernersto are awesome! These men make my wish to see the Machu Picchu more enjoyable and fun. It was great to see how the locals live and the history of the Incas back in the day. The Pachamanca foods made by Roger were the best! Thank you guys for the amazing tour! Nedz and I, had the great time! You guys are the BEST!!!

5.00My Jess and I had the best time in Peru thanks to Valentin , his son Kenny , Ernesto ( Tour guide ) and Roger our chef and also our inca trail hike. These people are the most kindhearted people you will ever meet. They will create and itinerary that will fit your plans and days and the places you want to see and visit. Everyday was planned so perfectly for us. We had the best times and amazing memories because of them. The inca trail was amazing , visiting machu picchu, exploring ollantaytambo was beautiful, visiting Moray, salt mines, chinchero to watch local weaving all kinds of clothing, the visit to Valentin family farm was amazing, we get to hold Inti the baby alpaca. Our tour was perfectly arranged for us. The transportation and all the hotel we stayed was just simply amazing.. Nice hotel and perfect location. I absolutely will recommend Valentin Pachamama Journey to anyone planning to visit Peru. We love them so much. Thank you again Valentin and crew for for our amazing Peru experience.
