This tour highlights some of the best spots in the Sacred Valley before taking the train to Aguas Calientes where we will spend the night and take you on a private sunrise tour of Machu Picchu the next day. There is an option to add additional days to visit a local farm and other amazing sites in the Sacred Valley as well as doing a city tour of Cusco.
No trip to Cusco and the Sacred Valley is complete without a visit to Machu Picchu and we will make sure that your journey is unique, memorable, and perfect. Your guide will stay with your for the entire tour providing you with a wealth of information and history about this incredible site. We will book your hotel in the Sacred Valley because the altitude here is lower than in Cusco and you will have an easier time acclimating and can better enjoy your time at Machu Picchu.

Chinchero
You will be picked up at 8:00 by private driver at your hotel in the morning. From Cusco or the Sacred Valley, there is a 45-minute drive through beautiful mountains and farmlands to the town of Chinchero in order to visit the women's weaving cooperative where we will watch a demonstration of local weavers who are using Inca techniques for dyeing fabric and for weaving traditional patterns.
Maras
Then we will visit Maras, a collection of salt mines that have been used since pre-Inca times to evaporate salt from an underground stream followed by a visit to Moray where will look down below to contemplate the concentric circles that made up an Incan agricultural laboratory. Lunch in Urubamba before taking late afternoon trail to Aguas Calientes.
Day of the Tour in Machu Picchu
Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu
Today we will have a very early start (5 am) so that we can arrive at Machu Picchu in time for the majestic sunrise--a once in a lifetime opportunity. In depth guided tour of the site for 2 hours with option to hike to Inti Punku or the Sun gate. Late afternoon train back to Ollantaytambo where we will transfer you to your peaceful 3 star hotel.
Day 3 of the Tour

After breakfast at your hotel, you will have an in depth tour of the Inca ruins at Ollantaytambo, which was the lodging of the Inca emperor Pachacutec and later served as a military checkpoint for the Incas trying to protect the roads to Machu Picchu from the invading Spaniards. We will then drive 20 minutes to the town of Yanahuara where we will visit to a farm in the sacred valley, where we will tour the farm lands, cut alfafa to feed the guinea pigs, and see first hand how chicha is made. Then we will drive one hour to the majestic ruins at Pisac where we will visit terraced Inca ruins that are situated high on a mountain followed by a visit to local handicraft market at Pisac. Private transfer to your hotel with accommodations at Tierra viva or similar caliber hotel (3 star)
Day 4 of the Tour
Plaza de Armas Cuzco
Pick up at your hotel. Private tour of Cusco including local market tour, main square, main cathedral, Coricancha (temple of the sun), After lunch, we will drive 30 minutes to Tambomachay which was the Inca temple of the water, and then visit Pukapucara which was a ceremonial place of the Incas. Then we will visit the the Unesco world heritage site of Sacsayhuaman. We will accompany you to your hotel at the end of the tour.

5.00Valentine’s guide, Percy Ayala, was superb. His 776th guided tour of MachuPichu. His English was fluent, he used his engineering degree to provide detailed insights into Inca architecture and technology and had a great knowledge of orchids. He encouraged us across the entire four day trek. The porters and chef were also fantastic. The food was unbelievably good given they carried everything. Even the portable toilet was always spotless. First class in everything!!

5.00This group is nothing short of spectacular. They went above and beyond for every aspect of this trip. They are very kind, attentive, knowledgeable and 2 steps ahead of the game. Kenny took us to Cusco to replace our essentials after our luggage was lost our first day. Our days were thoughtfully planned to get the most out of the experience. Other group tours had much longer waits. Valentin navigated drop off spots and timing to get off the train to stay ahead of the crowds and avoid traffic back to Cusco. He navigated everything to minimize time lost. Roger took great care of my 9yo boy during the Inca trail hike encouraging him to maintain a great pace. It was so fun to cook with Roger because he has great energy. We had THE BEST pictures. They went out of their way to get the best angles and poses. All other travelers were trying to hit up our guides when they saw how much effort was put into capturing our moments. Talk about knowledgeable about history. Valentin is a strong history buff helping us to understand meaning and importance of locations, architecture and pieces of art. Also Valentin so caring when my daughter got sick. The cough suppressant helped! If I spoke Spanish and less of a chicken traveling internationally as a single mom with 2 kids I would still book them. There are too many ins and out that you want an expert to handle.

5.00Valentin, Kenny, and Simon are absolutely amazing! They are not just tour guides, but became family. They shared so much of themselves, their culture, traditions, and knowledge of this beaustiful country. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience and it would not have been so incredible without them! We also did Humantay Lake with them and I can say for certain I would not have completed the without Kenny and Simon! I cannot recommend them enough!

5.00Our trip to Peru via International Yoga was amazing! I had never been to South America and was looking forward to experiencing the food and culture in Cusco and the Sacred Valley. However, I did not expect the first class treatment from Valentine and his team of tour guides. They are so kind and dedicated to ensuring that everyone feels supported and informed during each outing. As a former high school teacher, I enjoy learning about history, art, and architecture. Valentine and his associates went out of their way to answer questions about the various sites and places we visited. I gained a better appreciation for the achievements of the Incas and the legacy they left behind. One of my favorite excursions was visiting Valentine’s farm. There we feed llamas and had one of the best meals on the planet. The mango ceviche was so delicious! In addition to the knowledge of Inca/Peruvian culture and cuisine, I also appreciated the support I received during our visits to Machu Picchu and Humantay Lake. The high altitude of Cusco made hiking a challenge, but Simon and Kenny were always present ensuring that we could finish our climb without incident.

5.00Beautiful tour with beautiful people Recently returned from a 10 day trip to incredible Peru guided by Valentin’s Pachamama Journeys. I can’t adequately express in words how very special it was but I’ll try! Valentín, Kenny, and Simón are absolutely incredible tour guides, teaching us of the wisdom of the Incas and the respect and love for their beautiful land. Together as a yoga retreat group, we were able to enjoy a pachamanca meal, visit a traditional highland kitchen, climb Machu Picchu, Pisac, Moray Ruins, Maras salt mines, Humantay lake, and explore Cusco, Ollantaytambo, and Urubamba together. I am very afraid of heights and Kenny in particular really helped me when I was panicking a few times, all of the guides have such a steady and calming presence that helps so much. I can’t speak highly enough of Valentín’s logistics as far as planning our daily excursions in a way that didn’t feel overwhelming or exhausting, especially with a group of 23 of us. I’m going to be telling everyone at home in Chicago to visit and travel with them for ages. I hope to return and go on another journey with them in the future! Sulpayki, Valentín, Kenny, Simón, Walter, & Beto! And Sulpayki, Pachamama!

Not only does he bring his experience of growing up in the area to every moment, the planning was flawless and we didn’t have to worry about one single detail. They flexed when we needed extra time, with no mention of it. Everyone was kind, personable, knowledgeable and organized. I literally cannot say enough good things and would recommend anyone seeking to visit Peru to just contact Valentin first. You will be set!

5.00Incredible, life-changing Sacred Valley experience with Valentin, Simon, Kenny, Walter, and Beto! Valentin’s team had everything planned perfectly for our yoga retreat. I felt at ease knowing that we were well taken care of at all times. What could have been a very stressful, confusing trip was made very simple. His team truly welcomed us to the beautiful, magical country of Peru with open arms, smiling faces, and lots of laughs. Happy to have met new Peruvian brothers! 5.00I was leading a yoga retreat and we worked with Valentin’s company for excursions all throughout the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Valentin welcomed us, took the best care of us, and had so much to share about the history and culture of Peru. It was authentic and exceptional. I would highly recommend working with Valentin’s Pachamama Journeys. They are the best!
