Traveling solo, female 68 years old.I was met at Tamale airport by tall Emmanuel, tour guide and Alhassan, driver. I’d been in Accra for over a week among the noise and endless humanity. We drove for over two hours towards Mole National Park. A marvelous ride through numerous villages, farms and countryside. Goats and more goats, and sheep; a constant! I always felt safe. Emmanuel was 100% available. Accommodations at Mole Hotel were clean and very comfortable. The staff was remarkably kind and responsive. Plenty of food; my tour included breakfast, lunch and dinner. Room had hot water, ceiling fan, air conditioning & key card entry. Dining area overlooks the pool and vast vista; very beautiful, and comfortable. Saw cox, monkeys, and baboons on the peaceful property. Nearby information Center was where safari departed from. Armed Park Ranger accompanied my jeep Safari. We saw baboons, birds, cox, and numerous elephants. The trip to the village where Shay butter is produced, was fascinating. Butter wasn’t being produced while we were there, but I was able to purchase a container and see the facility. I marveled at the villagers, goats, guinea hens, chickens, doves, structures, earthen homes and a way of life far from my own. Then to the 600 year old mosque still in use today. The guide was very informative. Children playing nearby and village life happening all around. This was our drivers home Village, I had plenty of time to relax, rest, and play cards with Emmanuel. On the ride back to Tamale, we stopped in a small village. Peanut harvest was in full throttle. Adults and children were friendly; a group of women invited me to join them to eat with them. A way of life so close to the earth. I was gifted with a bag of peanuts on my departure! For me, this tour was priceless. Everything was arranged for me. The staff at the hotel, the park, Emmanuel and Alhassan were exceptional. I would book with this tour company again. And I would book directly with them if it all possible rather than through a third-party. I highly recommend them. Thank you for a marvelous tour.

From Shai Hills to the peaks (Mt Gemi) and valleys with water falls and canopy walk in Amedzofe, a trip to the Wli waterfall (tallest in West Africa) with the fruit bats and the Mona monkeys, this was a fun and educational weekend. Thanks to the folks at Skyway Safari (Emmanuel) for planning a wonderful and enjoyable weekend

I visited the Monkey Sanctuary in Boabeng, which became one of my best experience during my volunteer year in Ghana. The monkey's are amazing and the tour guide gives a lot of interesting background information about the village, the monkeys and the beliefs of the people. You should take some money with you because they sell wonderful paintings of the forests and the monkeys in a tourist shop. And please, bring bananas and groundnuts, because monkeys have a rule which is called: no food, no friendship! ;) Take your time especially if you are a backpacker to stay some time with this amazing community and be patient if you wanna continue your journey from this a bit remote area... I have waited a bit till someone took me to the next destination. (It was Sunday! So I don't want to complain here! Just an advice). The tour guide or someone of the organization team will help you to arrange it. Just ask! If you have a car, no problem, you will find a way. There are some places in the village where you have network. Don't be afraid to ask for it, if you wanna make a call! To come to an end: my big THANK YOU for this wonderful time. I was also able to visit one of the festivals in the surrounding because my guide Sampson took me there. It was quite interesting and great to see this piece of Ghanaian culture and to taste a cashew fruit along the way (there are cashew trees in the surrounding). I never forget Boabeng! Marianne, 20, stayed 2 nights in Boabeng
