A trial lesson can make an incredible and exciting gift for loved ones and friends or just to treat yourself! The Explorer Lesson is a hands on flying experience with 1 to 1 instruction at Redhill Aerodrome. Flight time is approximately 45 minutes in the local area where we aim to get the student on all of the controls.

Suitable for all physical fitness levels

R22 – Maximum weight 17St (108Kg), please advise us if over 15St (95Kg).

R44 – If you choose one of our R44 trial lessons you can take up to two friends with you Free of Charge (weight permitting). R44 Maximum passenger weight 21St, please advise us if over 15St (95Kg).

There is no minimum age for a helicopter lesson, however the student will need to physically be able to reach and operate all of the controls safely.

Flights are subject to suitable weather conditions. In the event of unsuitable weather, you will be offered an alternative date.

All passenger weights MUST be advised at time of booking. Due to comfort and weight / balance of the aircraft, passengers weighing over 15 Stone (95 Kg) should contact the carrier before booking.

If you do not speak English fluently we may not be able to instruct you effectively, in which case you may not be allowed on the controls.

The team at EBG helicopters were really helpful throughout the process - from booking and initial questions through to the on-the-day instruction. James on the operations team helped loads throughout the booking and arrivals processes. My instructor Ken was incredibly knowledgeable. He gave us a great intro on the ground to help us understand how the helicopter works and what to expect in the sky. In the cockpit and sky he was very supportive and clear throughout. I had an amazing experience on my trial lesson at EBG Helicopters. Doing a helicopter lesson has been on my bucket list for a long long time, and I'm really glad I came here to do it.

Absolutely amazing experience and great pilot - very addictive I definitely want more !! Highly recommend for anyone interested in something a bit different, or to learn a new skill - nothing like flying a plane for sure !

We bought our son an Explorer lesson for his 18th birthday. The ordering process was super-easy and the staff very accommodating. We rebooked our dates a couple of times due to weather conditions and this was very straight forward. On the day, pilot Anne-Marie was welcoming, friendly and put my son at ease. He loved the lesson, flying the helicopter for much f the time in the air. A brilliant day!

Excellent trial lesson with Bob the instructor that exceeded our expectations in every way. After a very professional and comprehensive introduction from Geoff there was a considerable amount of flying time, and the whole experience was fantastic. Booking was easy, with Linda very responsive. Overall highly recommended and great value for money.

I had the pleasure of experiencing what it was like to pilot a Robinson R44 with Captain Anne-Marie Goodwill. Anne-Marie was excellent in communicating the principles of flight and allowing me to get on the controls as much as possible - all while having a good sense of humour and endearing personality. By the end of the lesson I felt as if I had a very good idea of how a helicopter works, how it is operated in both hovering and flying and what it takes to be a pilot. I will be coming back and receiving more lessons from Anne-Marie. I could not recommend Anne-Marie more highly.

Had an absolutely brilliant time during my trial lesson on Saturday with Captain Tim Piper. From start to finish he was friendly, fun and informative and really put me at ease for my first ever lesson. The flying experience itself was so exciting and enjoyable, flying over the local area and even spotting my house from a bird's eye view! Not sure I completely nailed the hovering on the spot back at the airfield but I guess practice makes perfect so I'll just have to save up the money in order to take up a hobby doing my new favourite thing!!! I can't recommend the trial lesson and Tim Piper enough - I had a fantastic time, just wish it had lasted longer and I could do it every day!!! Thank you so much Tim - hopefully see you again soon!

Had a great intro lesson with Tim Piper. It was great fun and a brilliant experience. Tim was very good, and I would definitely recommend Tim and EBG.
