Our sled guide Adam was great. You can tell he’s very passionate about the dogs and their wellbeing, and he explained a lot of the practices to maintain their mental & physical health, their routines, training, etc. The huskies are all super sweet and loved receiving all the pets after our sled ride!

The guide was great, attentive, and provided loads of information. Dogs were well cared for, and we had a very individualized experience-able to ride and drive the sled.

We had such a great time on this dog sledding adventure. The drive out to Gargia Lodge took about 30 minutes, but the driver was very knowledgeable and filled the drive with information. Upon arrival, we were outfitted with thermal suits, boots, additional socks and mittens if needed. A brief introduction on how to handle the sled was provided, simple yet very clear. Our guide was fantastic. She made sure the sleds stayed together and took us on a great journey in a winter wonderland. We were able to hang out with the wonderful dogs after the ride and each person was given the chance to drive the sled and ride if wanted. We then went back to the lodge and had a snack and a lovely warm fruit drink that was amazing. Everyone was so helpful. They answered all of our questions about dog sledding and their journeys as well as answer lots of questions we had about the area and things to do. Such a wonderful experience. Everyone should visit Alta and go on a dog sledding adventure.

This was a fantastic experience that was worth every penny! The thrill of driving the dogsled is really special and the course around the lodge is full of scenic views, fun ups and downs, and beautiful woods. Having the opportunity to switch drivers at the halfway point was also a great touch that made sure everyone got to drive the team. The dogs are all fantastic and getting to bond with the team afterwards was a ton of fun! I have to also commend the guides on the gear that was provided. It was -20 degrees Celsius before getting on the sleds but the provided boots, mittens, and Arctic suits kept us toasty warm even in extreme temperatures. If you are in Alta, I would absolutely recommend this activity to anyone who likes adventures in a winter wonderland!
