5.00Excellent off-road safari experience to west/north of Madeira. Standing in an open roof army jeep going through narrow streets of little villages and wild forests up in the mountains was an unforgettable experience. Tobias was excellent guide and driver!

Full fun packed day, lots of information , laughs , and opportunities to experience the west of the island . We would highly recommend Up Mountain Madeira as a go to tour company . Thank you .

5.00We had Tobias as our guide on tour who pointed out places along the way. Stopped to allow photographs to be taken. Adjust tour to our needs. Off roading was a great experience expecially for the children especially when being able to stand up going down the dirt tracks.. If we were slightly late getting back to jeep was never a problem for Tobias. After a great day we decided to book East tour for the following week again with Tobias. Would recommend this company and the open top ex army jeeps as it gave a much better experience than the other 4x4 we could see as they had a solid roof and they looked a little crammed. Thanks again until next time.

5.00We did two tours with Up Mountain Madeira (UMM) on two consecutive days -- the Flower East and the Far West itineraries -- and came away with a much fuller appreciation of the sights, natural beauty, and culture of Madeira. UMM's 4x4 Jeep was the perfect vehicle for our explorations, allowing us to go up roads that would never have been possible wth a larger van or bus, and our guides (Tiago and Diego) were natives who were full of enthusiasm and great information about the island and its people. I felt that we were able to see things that many other tourists to the island who opted for larger group tours would have missed. We had two great and unforgettable days, and I would give them the highest recommendation if you are looking to an authentic, non-packaged, and flexibly delivered introduction to Madeira.

5.00Brilliant day out, very good stops with our guide pointing out lots of points of interest along the way. Loved all the stops, particularly enjoyed the mountain top view stop overlooking Porto Moniz. Nattys cafe with home made cake was magical. Our 2 hours in Porto Moniz were blissful. 2 of us swam in the lava pools which was incredible, the other 2 had a lovely long lunch. The last poncho taverna where peanut shells are thrown down was absolutely brilliant.

5.00Thanks Diogo. That was fantastic. And we’ve made a new friend in you! We did the east tour several years ago and it was by far the best tour we’d ever been on anywhere. So we were in Madeira today for the day whilst on a cruise. And we texted them to organise the west of the island tour. Due to the time of year there were only the two of us. A private tour at a great price. And it was adjusted to suit where we wanted to go. On this tour you will go where the usual run of the mill jeep safaris don’t go. Some proper off-roading, and some very old steep back roads with hairpin bends. Giving you views that the other companies don’t give. You will be in a vintage UMM. A robust Portuguese military ‘jeep’ We stopped for a fantastic late lunch on the way back and asked Diogo to join us. A fantastic day out. We really do recommend these guys. They are superb

5.00We had a fabulous time on the full day west tour this week. Full commendations to Thiago, our driver, who adapted the schedule to suit the rather mixed weather. He was knowledgeable, articulate and amusing, and the trip became more of a private tour for the two of us; another couple had cancelled, but the trip still went ahead for us. There were many highlights, but viewpoint stops on the N and SW coasts were breathtakingly beautiful, and our swim at Santa Moniz memorable. Couldn't recommend the company highly enough!

5.00We did the Farowest full day tour with Diogo who was a fabulous guide. Great scenery and terrific off roading through the forests. We stopped at a local cantina for a Poncha and cake and lunch at Porto Moniz. We have done many tours with this company and in our opinion you get to see Madiera at it's best.
