• Wonderful desert hike!!

  We were looking for a desert tour in Morocco, which is not the classic tourist scam (where you spend 2 out of 3 days in the car), but where you are away from the crowds of tourists and luxury camps. And that was exactly what was fulfilled by this tour here, so the higher price was definitely worth it for me. We hiked for 5 days and saw sand dunes, stone desert and a nomadic village. We were very well looked after and the food was plentiful and super delicious! The atmosphere was very relaxed and everyone was super friendly and helpful.

  Eva has put together a very individual tour for us. Everything is perfect, from the hotel in Merzouga to the luxury camp in the desert to the hotel in Errachidia. Drivers were nice and reliable. I can highly recommend this agency for an unforgettable trip to the desert and the Berbers.

  I am still overwhelmed by this great experience! Actually, my trip to Morocco only took me away, because I read Eva's blog, and that took away any fear of traveling alone in Morocco. Through these paths I came across Berber Adventure Tours and decided to go for the desert hike over New Year's Eve. As a solo traveler, I thought it would be nice to have company over the holidays. And as expected it was a wonderful tour with a nice group dynamic! Eva and Hassan made it an unforgettable experience and were traveling with us away from mass tourism, which made it much more authentic! We stayed in a great accommodation with super delicious food and hiked a nice round every day and yet there was still time to relax and enjoy the peace and sun of the desert. I can recommend this experience to everyone from young to old and small and large, as well as solo travelers. I am already determined to come back for another tour Greetings to you from Tamara

  We did a 5-day tour with Berber Adventures, which took us from Marrakesh to Merzouga and back again. We had never visited Morocco before, so to plan our trip we sent a fairly general email to Eva and Hassan explaining that we would like to hike and get to know the local culture in a respectful way. They sent us a detailed proposal within 24 hours that corresponded perfectly to what we wanted. The execution of the proposal was also flawless. The hotels were comfortable and the activities were fun (hikes, camel ride, dinner with a local family, etc). We particularly appreciated the driver/guide that Eva and Hassan linked us up with (Aziz), who was punctual and courteous, and took road safety very seriously. He also had many interesting things to show us and to tell us (in excellent English).

  Review for a Desert Tour in Morocco We booked Eva and Hassan a 5-day tour through the desert of Morocco and are absolutely thrilled! Eva planned and carried out the entire trip with great attention to detail, the highest professionalism and individually tailored to us. From the first contact to the return we felt completely comfortable and well looked after. Eva has an incredible sense of the needs of her guests and has managed to offer us a unique experience we will never forget. The landscapes, accommodations and small surprises along the route were perfectly selected. We were particularly impressed by her warm nature and the passion with which she designed her tours. We had encounters with the people who live there and got an insight into the lives of Berber women. Very outstanding were the riads booked by Eva and the food we got on the way. Typical Moroccan cuisine, excellently prepared. The last two days we had a driver who took us back to Marrakech, with great stops.   We spontaneously booked three days of desert hiking with Eva and Hassan and honestly didn't really know what to expect. And what can we say: It was the highlight of our Morocco trip! Hassan told us a lot about Merzouga and the desert and you can just tell that he grew up here. The nights in the camps were beautiful, including incredibly delicious food and great conversations around the campfire. The first camp was one of the first in Merzouga, very natural and still in the dunes. The second camp was, to our surprise, a real luxury camp. We could even do sandboarding, which we didn't expect at all. In contrast to the many providers in Marrakech, our tour was totally personal, Hassan designed the tour to suit our needs and we had a lot of fun with him! We would recommend the tour to anyone who wants to get an honest impression of the Merzouga desert and doesn't want mass tourism. Eva and Hassan really offered us a lot for the price and we are glad we found them. They also gave us lots of tips for the rest of our trip.

  

  

• Incredible Desert Hiking Adventure

  My boyfriend and I did a 5 day/4 night Sahara trek with Berber Adventures in October. The trek was nothing short of amazing and they were able to help us customize to ensure we got everything we wanted out of our trip. Eva was very communicative and helpful and really made the planning very easy for us. They were THE ONLY company I could find in my research that allowed for actual hiking and camping without car transfers etc and they were able to accommodate not only a riding camel, so that we could get the experience of riding as well as walking but also a private tour, all for a very reasonable price. They were very flexible, which I didn’t necessarily find with other tours. Out of our entire time spent in Morocco, the food was the most authentic that we had and was absolutely delicious. The amount of time trekking per day was perfect and allowed for us to play with some of the nomad kids, spend time with a berber family and relax and really take in the beautiful desert environment. Hassan, our guide, was AMAZING, and knows SO much about the desert and Morocco in general. We had a fantastic time with the entire crew and out of an almost 20 day trip, this was by far our favorite experience. It challenged us just enough while also showing us an authentic side to Moroccan berber life.   If you want to become one with the grandiose nature of the Sahara, the beloved camels and the life of the nomads, BAT is the place for you. It was great! The hike with our small caravan led us through dreamy landscapes far away from civilization, without meeting other tourists or groups. Hassan had thought of everything, nothing was missing, we were lovingly and variedly cooked by him and were able to enjoy the peace, the dreamlike light with spectacular sunrises and sunsets and the beauty of the desert without any worries! Many thanks to Hassan and Eva for the perfect organization and implementation of an unforgettable hike!

  If you're thinking about taking a camel hike through the Sahara, all I can say is, “Do it”! It was a very special experience, a great tour with a great group. It was incredibly exhausting and incredibly nice to equal. During the hike, I was able to completely switch off from my otherwise stressful everyday life and relax completely through the almost meditative walking, which I have not experienced before. The Sahara is very scenic and offered us something new to see every day. Dreamlike sunrises and sunsets, dunes, a visit to nomads, almost deserted areas, herds of camels and breathtaking views, all this we had in 5 days. These impressions and memories will be with us for a long time to come. Especially I can recommend Marrakech as a start before the hike. We spent 2 exciting days there in advance. Eva has accompanied us throughout our journey and led us to great places. Through the Moroccan cuisine we were able to try our hand at our own food tour. We learned a lot about the history of the city and the people. Thank you Eva and Hassan for this great time, we felt very comfortable with you.

  Organising my my three-day tour through the desert at Erg Chebbi with Eva was the best choice I could take. For the most part of the trip, it was only me and my guide Said, who knows everything that there is to tell about the desert and the way people live there. After the first afternoon hike with a camel through the sand dunes of the Sahara, we arrived at the only oasis in the middle of the dunes and stayed there in a small camp over night, only me without any other tourists! The next day I had lunch together with nomads living in the desert, it was the best berber pizza I could imagine. All food provided throughout the day and evening was great, also at the second evening where we stayed in one of the camps behind the sand dunes. If you are looking for an individual experience in the desert with local people, I can highly recommend you to contact Eva to make an unique experience (I know this sounds like an advertisement phrase, but I didn't know how else to descibe it).
