Al Alam Palace
Al Alam Palace, one of six Sultanic residences of the monarch has a history of over 200 years, and was built under the watch of Imam Sultan bin Ahmed, the 7th direct grandfather of Sultan Qaboos. The existing palace, which has a façade of gold and blue, was rebuilt as a royal residence in 1972.The inner grounds of the palace remain off-limits, but visitors are permitted to stop near the gates and take photographs. AL Alam Palace is surrounded by the Mirani and Jalali Forts built in the 16th century by the Portuguese. The Palace is used for official functions and receiving distinguished visitors. In January 2012, the Sultan received Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands at Al Alam Palace during her state visit to Oman.
Al Jalali Fort
(Photo Stop) Al Jalali Fort, or Ash Sharqiyah Fort, is a fort in the harbour of Old Muscat, Oman. The fort was built by the Portuguese under Philip I of Portugal in the 1580s to protect the harbour after Muscat had twice been sacked by Ottoman forces. It fell to Omani forces in 1650. During the civil wars between 1718 and 1747, the fort was twice captured by Persians who had been invited to assist one of the rival Imams. The fort was extensively rebuilt later. At times, Al Jalali served as a refuge or a jail for a member of the royal family. For much of the 20th century it was used as Oman's main prison, but this function ended in the 1970s. Fort al-Jalali was restored in 1983 and converted into a private museum of Omani cultural history that is accessible only to dignitaries visiting the country. Exhibits include cannons, old muskets and matchlocks, maps, rugs and other artefacts.
Mirani Fort
(Photo Stop) Al-Mirani is a fort, originally built by the Portuguese, in the harbour of the city of Old Muscat, Oman.In the 1552 Capture of Muscat, an Ottoman force consisted in 4 galleons, 25 galleys, and 850 troops attacked the city of Muscat. They captured the city and its fort. The recently built Fort Al-Mirani was besieged for 18 days with one piece of Ottoman artillery brought on top of a ridge. The fort was captured and its fortifications destroyed.

Bimmah Sinkhole
Our first stop on this day is Bimmah Sinkhole, a big crater near the sea with a small lake at the bottom, which is believed to have been crated by meteor.

Fins Beach, It is strikingly white, curiously pebbly, incredibly blue and jaw-droppingly amazing.
Wadi Shab
We continue to drive to Wadi Shab. This Wadi is an enormous canyon gorge that is lined with palm trees and impressive indications of what the power of the water coming down from the mountains can do in nature. With a 35-minute hike up through the canyon Wadi, we arrive at one of several crystal-clear water pools. Tourists can swim on through the warm waters from pool to pool. Eventually, we come to the last pool where an opening among the enormous rocks allows us to swim into an incredible crevice cave with a small waterfall. Inside, the sunlight filters in from the outside, turning the water into a beautiful turquoise blue whilst water showers down one side of the cave from the wadi beyond.
Wadi Tiwi
Tiwi village at the coast, is a beautiful wadi with the lush plantations giving it a different (certainly greener) feel than many other wadis.
Ras al Hadd Castle
The beaches at Ras al Hadd and nearby Ra's al-Jinz are known as a breeding ground for green sea turtles. (Stay for Overnight)

Wadi Bani Khalid, one of the biggest and most beautiful Wadis in Oman. Here you can swim, sunbathe, relax and have a picnic in the beautiful scenic of wadi canyons.
Wahiba Sands
We continue to our desert camp in the Wahiba Sands desert, where you relax or take part in an adventurous 4×4 drive in the sand dunes. Then we will watch the stunning sunset of the desert on one of the big sand dunes. We finish the day with a dinner at the camp and a nice romantic time around a campfire.

Jebel Akhdar or they called the Green Mountain is part of Al Hajar Mountains range in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate of Oman. It rises toa height of 2,980 and encompasses the Saiq Plateau at 2,000 meter above sea level.

5.00Oman is magical. We saw beautiful beaches, corals, aquatic life, desert and mountains all in a week’s time. There is something very gentle and welcoming about Oman, personified in very friendly and hospitable guide Badar. Highly recommend the place, star tours and our guide.

5.00Khalid and Ahmed did a great job throughout our five-day trip. They are very knowledgeable of all the different Oman areas/regions we visited but most importantly they were very respectful and kind with each member of the family particularly, my wife and grandchildren. They are excellent drivers and very agreeable to every request we had. They love their Country, and they were very proud of showing it to us.

5.00I traveled with my family including my parents, wife and our small children (8, 6, and 4). Since we were a large group, we traveled via 2 land cruisers. Throughout our trip, Khalid and Ahmed were punctual and effectively communicated our schedule for the day and the next day. They also accommodated additional requests (e.g., going to the turtle reserve before dawn) without issue and handled logistics of such requests seamlessly. In addition, each was a responsible driver and we felt safe in their vehicles. I most appreciated their positive attitudes and help with my parents and children. For example, Khalid patiently guided my parents through Wadi Shab at their own pace and Ahmed carried my four year old daughter (I have a bad back) through a significant portion of the hike through Wadi Shab and even swam with her on his back. In another example, Khalid and Ahmed always made sure to drop us off and pick us up at sites to minimize walking for my mother and quickly located bathrooms for my children. Their compassion, thoughtfulness, and proactiveness made our trip enjoyable and memorable. I would absolutely travel with Khalid and Ahmed again and highly recommend them as guides. Thank you for such a memorable experience in Oman 🇴🇲.

5.00We had a wonderful time in Oman as a family of 7 including 2 grandparents and 3 children ages 4, 6 and 8. Khalid and Ahmed were great tour guides and safe drivers. They let us take our time and helped when our four year old didn’t want to walk and when the grandparents needed assistance. Definitely recommend!

5.00My traveling companion and I recently returned from an incredible 7-day private tour of Oman with Star Tours Oman (December 20th–26th, 2025), and we cannot recommend them highly enough. From our pickup at Muscat International Airport to our final departure, the experience was seamless and professionally managed. Our Guide, Yahya The highlight of our trip was undoubtedly our guide, Yahya. He was wonderful and incredibly knowledgeable throughout the entire journey. Whether navigating the rugged mountain roads or guiding us through busy souqs, his inside into Omani culture and history were invaluable. He made us feel safe and welcome every step of the way. Muscat City Tour We spent a full day exploring the capital. The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is a masterpiece—seeing the world's second-largest handmade carpet and the massive chandelier was breathtaking. We also loved the walk along the corniche to the vibrant Mutrah Souk and the photo stops at the Al Alam Palace and Royal Opera House. Wadis & Coast The coastal drive to Ras Al Hadd was stunning. Our stop at the Bimmah Sinkhole was beautiful, but the real adventure was Wadi Shab. Hiking through the canyon and swimming through the crystal-clear pools to the cave waterfall was an experience we will never forget. Desert Camping We stayed overnight at the Desert Rose Camp in Wahiba Sands. The 4x4 dune bashing was thrilling, and watching the sunset over the dunes followed by a campfire dinner was magical. Mountains & Heritage The latter part of the trip took us to the mountains. The views from Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountain) and Jebel Shams (Oman's Grand Canyon) were spectacular. We also loved visiting the historic Nizwa Fort and the ancient mud-brick village of Misfah Al Abryeen. Logistics & Service The tour was well-organized. It included transportation, water, entrance fees, and accommodations in the desert and mountains (Ras Al Hadd, Wahiba Sands, and Jebel Akhdar). We booked our own stays at the Sheraton for the Muscat legs of the trip, which worked out perfectly. Thank you to Karen for the smooth booking process and to Yahya for being such a fantastic guide. 5.00We went for a 5 days vacation in Oman. Star tours made our trip a memorable one. Karen who coordinated our trip helped us in planning and executing a perfect itinerary . Special mention to our guide Ahmed Alghammary , Such a wonderful person. Kind, respectful and knowledgeable. We visited Muscat, Wadi shab, Wahiba Sands, Jabal akthar and Nizwa . Throughout the trip our guide made sure that we are comfortable and also gave us a detailed explanation about the history of places we visited . We tried different Arabic cuisine with our guide and the food was very yummy. Definitely recommend Ahmed as guide if you are looking for a vacation in Oman

5.00Waleed our tour guide was an amazing friendly man that has a great deal of knowledge and love for his country and its beauty and history. He was so patient and accommodating and helpful and excellent driver. The car was clean and comfortable. All the hotels and desert camp we stayed at were clean and comfortable. We had so much fun and visited so many and beautiful places and loved Oman and its beautiful mountains, beaches, desert, and Wadis, and mosques and market places. and the food was great. Above all we loved the people and Waleed became like a younger brother to me and my wife and a big brother to our son and he welcomed us in his beutiful home and met his sweet son khaled and daughter. We loved everything and hope to be back to see Salala and other parts we will use same Tour Company and recommend to friends for sure.

5.00Our tour of Oman experience with sunshine/ stars tours and most wonderful private tour guide Waleed was amazing! My husband son and I had the best experience and loved every minute of our tour and beautiful sights of Oman! The beautiful mosques especially sultan kaboos mosque in Muscat, the deserts, mountains, waters, beaches, valleys, hikes, swims, coffee shops, malls, turtles, camels, and wonderful villages and towns old and new. The food was delicious! This is a most beautiful country with even more beautiful people so kind and welcoming. All The places we stayed in were amazing desert rose in the wahiba sands desert! Sama hotel in AlAkhdar Mountains(green Mountains), the Turtle Reserve Hotel where we saw large and baby turtles in their natural habitat, and the royal tulip in Muscat! The highlight of our trip was our tour guide Waleed became a friend and family now!!!! Loved it so much and I would definitely come live here. Thank you sunshine tours and Waleed for an amazing experience and trip!!! Excellent!!!!!
