This Five-day safari offers the ultimate primate safari experience in Uganda. The safari starts with a visit to Kibale Forest national park home to the chimpanzees and 13 other primates’ species.
At Kibale you will do a chimp trek and Bigodi nature walk. The second half of the journey takes you to the Bwindi impenetrable forest national park home to endangered mountain gorillas. At Bwindi you will do a gorilla trek, and later visit Lake Bunyonyi.

Our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or from Entebbe international airport on arrival for your gorilla trekking and chimpanzee safari. Transfer to Kibale forest heading west through Fort Portal where you will stop for lunch. Proceed to Kibale forest arriving in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at your preferred lodge.

Kibale National Park
After morning breakfast, wake up early to track chimps near Kanyanchu. This can take you half a day. There are 13 other primate species that live in Kibale forests and you will therefore encounter some of them during your chimp trek, these include the golden monkey, L’Hoest monkey, baboons, white and black colobus monkeys, grey checked mangabey, red colobus, blue monkeys and pottos. Other animals include forest elephants unique from the common type, giant forest hogs and a striking tree species.
Bigodi Wetlands Sanctuary
Enjoy Lunch and later take a guided nature walk to Bigodi swamp sanctuary, a good site for birders. The Great Blue Turaco and Papyrus Gonolek can easily be marked among the other bird 137 species. There is also an array of butterfly species. Later return for dinner and overnight as above.

You will enjoy morning breakfast and set off for Bwindi forest the home of half of the remaining mountain gorilla population in the world. Enjoy your lunch enroute, and continue to Bwindi where you will check-in to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarter. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Later in the afternoon, you will transfer to lake Bunyonyi, uganda’s deepest and most beautiful lodge, dotted with several islands.

Enjoy morning breakfast and then go for a canoeing activity on Lake Bunyonyi where you will take photos of this beautiful lake, and interact with the locals. Later you transfer back to Kampala, Lunch en-route. The guide will drop you off at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, or at the Airport.

5.00Although I said we did the 5 day trip, we actually combined the 5 days with a 3 day trip to Murchinson Falls and Safari park. This trip was absolutely fantastic. The itinerary was set by Jonathan, who kindly accommodated all our different arrival and departure times. Jonan, our guide and driver, expertly led our small party, making adjustments to the itinerary when necessary for our comfort. Jonan was knowledgeable, kind and funny, we had so many laughs! Thank you to Adventure in the Wild for creating a wonderful experience for us.

5.00If there were 10 stars I would give them. From my first enquiry with Jonathon to our last set of selfies on the equator with Jonan, this tour was blinder! Absolutely professional and helpful from beginning to end. We're already booking one for next year! They had organised everything- gorilla permit, all national park entrances, every meal included, it was so easy I didn't even know where we were going until we were there! We had a few extra free days so Jonathon suggested adding on Murchison Falls and this was a wonderful experience. Jonan is the best tour tour guide I've ever met. 100% knowledgeable and professional and accommodating and..a new friend😊 Thank you all so much!!!

5.00My experience with this company is unbelievable. The communication was excellent before leaving and during the booking process. The day of the flying out my flight got cancelled and the team were so helpful and made sure we didn’t miss anything from our package. All the accommodations we stayed in and the activities we did were 5 stars. A special thank you goes to our tour operator Joram. He is incredible at what he does, he is passionate, knowledgable and it was a pleasure to spend 8 days with him. He made the holiday which my mum and I had dreamed of for years one of the most special holidays of our lives. I hope that I come back and I will be telling all my friends and family to use this company and hopefully they will get the pleasure of being with Joram like my mum and I did. 5.00Ken was a fantastic guide throughout my 5 days across Uganda! He was knowledgeable, kind, patient and he traversed some incredibly rough terrain / hectic streets like an expert. The accommodations were fantastic, especially Chimpanzee Forest Lodge in Kibale, which may be the most beautiful place I have ever been. 5.00We had the best experience, our guide scodious was unbelievable, educated us on all the surrounds and Ugandan traditions and landscapes on our way to bwindi, where we saw several gorilla families, silver backs and babies. And the jungle experience itself was something we will never forget, the hospitality of the staff involved at all the different accommodation was outstanding, we enjoyed every last minute of this adventure and couldn’t recommend this company more! Visit Uganda, you will not regret it!!

My guide Robert was fantastic and I would highly recommend to anyone looking to have an amazing time in Uganda and Rawanda to book with Adventures in the Wild Safaris. 5.00We chose the 6-day tour with trekking for chimpanzees and gorillas. Everything was perfectly organized. our personal guide Joram was an excellent guide he taught us a lot about his country and about animals. He was extremely patient despite our poor English:). Thanks a lot. It was a simply magical stay!
